Barrow-Civic Theatre — Attraction in Franklin

Though I hardly have gone in Barrow here to watch plays, I have always been in this theatre during annual light up night, parade, and fireworks to look at all the Christmas tree displays. The inside of theatre looks really comfortable and plush and the staff have always been nice. Always love the Christmas tree displays there and the refreshments served there as well. It is is a real shame that here we are over 7 months into this COVID madness with all these shutdowns, social distancing, etc persisting keeping this theatre shut for who knows how much longer and if this theatre will ever reopen again. Hopefully this theatre does not go permanently out of business over all this in which I am afraid that it will. Let's all keep our fingers cross that this will not happen and all this COVID madness comes to an end at some point in the near future whether it be through a safe effective vaccine, treatments, or anything else that may stop all...

I love this theater. We watched "The Producers" on the final night of the show (during AppleFest) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The cast was great, the set was well done and scene changes were flawless. Even when a prop nearly fell on a performer, he handled it with poise and even quipped about it, causing a burst of laughter from the audience. All around a solid show and the theater couldn't be nicer. My only recommendation would be to add a few other options for snacks. While they have plenty of drink options, I love to munch on candy or something during shows but found the selection a bit thin. A tray of cookies and some sweet breads from Sam's would go far toward adding to the 'intimate' feel of the venue. Just...

I have acted and worked backstage at this theater several times and have seen a handful of shows. The community is wonderful, very accepting and loving, and they don’t mind taking new people in, showing them how things work. The theater is run by wonderful people who clearly have passion for what they do, and that shines through every single show. Being at the Barrow has no doubt changed my life.
