First the good. All staff encountered during our weekend stay were friendly and helpful. The hotel was relatively clean. Now for the not so good. The property is very dated. It looks like the last upgrade took place sometime during the Carter administration. There are visible cracks in the walls even though they were wallpapered over. There were NO USB ports to charge phones, etc. The bathroom faucets in both the shower and sink were loose making controlling the water temperature very hard. The sink was too small to hold toiletries. Had to set them on the floor. The refrigerator was noisy; when the compressor shut off, it would return a loud bang that woke me up a couple of times during the night. The worst problem was with the room's environmental system. It was your typical unit mounted underneath a window. Most modern systems have a digital thermostat mounted on the wall to control the temperature. Not here. The controls were on the unit. The thermostat was impossible to regulate. Either too hot or too cold which made getting a restful sleep impossible. The final thing (which I admit is nitpicking) that really made me angry to the point where not only will I never stay at this property again, I won't likely ever stay at a Choice property again. The continental breakfast. Normally, when my wife and I getaway for the weekend, we like to book a hotel that has a continental breakfast included. It's especially nice to be able to grab something quick before checking out and getting on the road back home. The breakfast was included on the property's website along with photos of the breakfast room. Typical stuff. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the breakfast room was closed due to the Pandemic. In its place, a choice to two breakfast sandwiches could be picked up each morning at the front desk, taken back to your room and microwaved. Even given safety concerns for spreading the virus, our visit occurred almost exactly two years after the start of COVID 19 in the U.S. Why wasn't their website updated to reflect the change? I suspect it had less to do with fear of spreading the virus and more to do with it being more economical for the hotel. No other hotels I've stayed at during the this period (at least 8 or 9) ever had a similar restriction. We saw not a single hotel employee wearing a mask. They didn't even have a plexiglass barrier at the front desk. Finally, the closed breakfast room was very close to the hotel's restaurant and bar which was open and fully functional. So, on an already busy weekend, we had to find a place for breakfast. My wife doesn't eat meat and I am borderline diabetic, so a carb heavy meal isn't very healthy for me. Again, it's nitpicking, but, it did cost us time and about $50 over the...
Read moreWe rented a room at the Franklin motel we paid for one night and then decided to stay another night and paid the next morning at 753am - At 4:30 p.m. that day we were called by the front desk and we're told we did not pay and needed to pay immediately - as I was explaining I had both receipts and I most certainly did pay - someone was pounding on our door - the lady on the phone found our payment and apologized - we opened the door and the lady demanded payment I explained that she needed to go speak with the lady at the front desk because she found our payment and we DID pay - she argued with me and saying I was lying and I needed to pay. I closed the door, got my shoes on and took both receipts to the front desk where both women were standing and I told her I didn't appreciate being called a liar and accused of not paying she then said I cursed at her and that was very rude - I did not curse as thats not something I do - I asked which curse word I said then and after pausing to think of something she says F* - Unbelievable not only was I accused of not paying she was mad she was wrong and wanted to call me out for something else - I would not recommend this place simply due to the rude staffing lady - Side note - I'm a smoker the room Is non smoking - I've gone to my car to smoke everytime disposing of the butts in the bin they have designated for that - Anxious to see what they say when we check out since they are butt hurt they were wrong (no...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of staying at the Quality Inn in Franklin, PA and I must say, it exceeded our expectations! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, Kim greeted me with warmth and hospitality. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, thanks to the attentive staff who made me feel right at home. The room itself was immaculate and cozy. There was complimentary Wi-Fi that kept me connected throughout our stay. I also appreciated the little touches, like the in-room coffee maker, refrigerator, and toiletries, which added an extra layer of comfort to our experience. One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious breakfast spread offered each morning. From fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast, oatmeal, eggs, fluffy waffles, etc., there was something for everyone to enjoy. The friendly staff (Karen) made sure that every guest felt welcome and well taken care of. Furthermore, the location of the hotel was perfect for exploring the area surrounding Liberty Street, with plenty of attractions and dining options just a short drive and/or walk away. The check-out process was seamless thanks to Karen! Overall, our experience at the Quality Inn was nothing short of exceptional. The impeccable service, comfortable accommodations (placing my inlaws in a room next to us), and convenient amenities made it a standout choice for our time in Franklin. I highly recommend Quality Inn to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in...
