We aren't from the area so we didn't know what to expect. We wanted to take the dog for a walk, and we found a terrific 3 mile hike around the pond.
The path was well marked, and pretty easy. There was some mild elevation change, but no stairs, and no steep hills.
The nature center itself was immaculate. The building is designed to minimize impact to nature by using compost toilets, funneling rainwater to plants, and other thoughtful improvements.
My only complaint is that I get charged double for admission because I live out of state. That really isn't fair... I'm vacationing in Delaware and spending my money there, I shouldn't...
Read moreThis place is really nice, especially during the warm months. The campground has electric and water hookups. They also have a dedicated spot for tents and cabins as well. Every other loop in the camper/rv area have a bath house and vending machines. The building at the gate area also doubles as a small store as well. They have volleyball, baseball, indoor eating area, bike/walk trails and a water park. Like I said plenty to do, especially during the warm months with their water park. There is a nice ramp intended for kayak launching, but I would definitely recommend a cart to get your kayak down there as it is a decent walk from the parking lot.
