Awesome clean and well maintained playground, ball fields, and pavilions. On this summer night my kids wanted to be outside and simply looked for any park which stayed open past dusk. The internet said 1030pm and I thought it had to be wrong, but when we arrived at 930pm there were players on the lighted fields in another section of the park. Though the ball fields were lighted brightly, everything else was lighted in warm/soft light. The playground has various percussion instruments installed around the edges of the playground area which sound amazing for being part of a playground. There are shaded seats for parents to watch their children play. The center piece of the playground is a 3 story play fort/tunnel set with fully enclosed slide from full height. The are various jungle gyms outside and the high areas of the tunnel set are fully enclosed so that you dont have to worry about your kid falling through some precariously open railing or climbing over a railing or finding another way some other excuse to spend the night in the emergency room. Thats a design flaw many many playgrounds seem to have. The swingsets have different variations from plain straps to "gaming chair" to rocket ships. There are a set of actual restrooms with running water in each area of the park. Could see at least 3 from the playground. Multiple water fountains which all functioned and had heights from adult down to dog bowl. There were at least 3 sets of fountains within 50feet of the playground area! All of these things were lighted well enough to be fully utilized without addition flashlights or camera phone light....
Read moreThis park has been around for quite some time but a lot of work has gone into modernization of the playground equipment. The new playgrounds, suitable for all ages, are beautiful, new and well kept.
There's also a nearby river and many other great small trails to explore. It's a very kid friendly park and usually has some level of activity so your young one can make quick friends.
Parks and Recreation does several summer camps here as well which are helpful for parents looking for ways to entertain their child and keep them learning even during school break.
The largest of the playgrounds is simply amazing and beautiful with various safety features built into the massive playground area. The biggest had 2 tall towers connected by bridges that are 3 levels high and have a very interesting climbing mechanism to maneuver between levels. The slides are fully enclosed looping slides. It's very new and beautiful.
There are also smaller playgrounds available for toddlers and various other playground equipment and swings. Your child is sure to have loads of fun at these new playgrounds. I highly recommend this park for your kids. Never too crowded but also rarely empty.
The nearby bathrooms, pavilions, picnic tables, and grills make for a great get away and place to be for parties and family outings. The nearby river is cool and refreshing. The location is decent and...
Read moreThey have redone the playgrounds here and I absolutely looove it here!! Its so colorful and offers stuff for kids of all ages! There is also a half court basketball court. This place is the ultimate place for children! Between the playgrounds and the river, and a pond. The pond dries up a lot during the summer but after a good rain and during the spring, the pond is amazing and full of life! From frogs and salamanders to snapping turtles and geese making nests!! And then being so close to the river is great too! For fishing and just playing in the water. No actual swimming because it's fairly shallow all the way across and then since there it's a flowing river. You can walk in the river and go fishing or grab a chair and cooler and sit along the side and throw in a line. But there are also baseball/softball fields. A few volleyball nets. Bathrooms!! And loads...
