I spent a lot of time here as a teenager in the late 70's and early 80's. I moved away for 35 years but relocated back to this area last summer. Since relocating I have again taken to spending much time at this park. Naturally (every pun intended) much has changed over the years as the park has been ravaged by flooding. The paved trails have been built over what were formerly the roadways through the park. A few of the visible unpaved trails are still recognizable from years ago and one such trail has some trees decorated which is unique and much appreciated for its originality. The park could really benefit from having some seating (there is none along the paved trails), a picnic area, some playground equipment, restroom facilities, a drinking water hydrant, etc. Some barbecue grills would be nice, as no campfires are allowed. I speculate no campfires are allowed due to the wildfire hazard created by the seemingly unmanageable amount of deadfall on the park grounds. Some of the paved trails are currently impeded by deadfall, so the paved trails could use some maintenance.

I absolutely love this place. As a person who likes nature, this is my favorite place in Fremont. You can hike, swim in the river, fish, or just relax. The view of the river is absolutely gorgeous. I can’t even count how many times I’ve been here! They also recently updated the 2nd entrance with a nicer parking lot and boat ramp. Perk : Free! Downside: No bathrooms.

Not much to do other than walk, bike or hike but it's nice. Your choice of paved or dirt trails. River outlook available and a observation bridge to take in nature. Very primitive, no bench, no picnic tables currently no restroom, no play ground, no gril or fire pits. Good place to walk a dog, bike or walk. Watch out for poison ivy.

Nice area that my son and I hiked around during cub scouts outing. Our goal was to go to a setting like this to enjoy a short hike/walk and pick up any trash along the way. Although it didn't help the cub scouts goal for cleaning up after humans in nature... I was very pleased to see that this area had very little trash on the trails.♡ It seems as though the people in this area all respect a clean natural habitat because the trails and park areas were mostly litter-free. BUT... the couple of trash receptacles on site, were overflowing and seemed fairly neglected.

The only reason I did not give 5☆ is because I think parks department or facilities needs to have more frequent check-ups on emptying the above mentioned trash receptacles. Otherwise lovely place to get out to quality...

My roommate and i went toad hunting and just listening to nature she getting all the pent up rage out and away from the crazy ppl out there. Great trails to be on and find your own lil peace of heaven all your own off the trail but your own trail so no one can contact you or find you for weeks and weeks and weeks just so you can destress and let go just you alone with God and nature and speak...
