I understand it was just Phase 1 of completion, but my question is where all these years and many millions of dollars were spent? Why make so much noise in the local media, open something that is very raw at the best and embarrass yourself? As a visitor all you can enjoy is 2.2 miles trail (round trip) with no pavement, so you walk on mud, no historical or natural markets along the trail, not a single bench to rest. The trail is not accessible for people with strollers or disabled people. Oh, please stop telling you wanted to keep it as natural as possible. In this case you could have just left it as is with zero work, there won't be much difference except lots of tax payers money would have been saved. Also, the trail itself is not the most beautiful, majority of it exposed to busy roads . But the worst thing is garbage and debris can be seen along the path. I was very depressed to find the front line Frisco park (as it is promoted from the administration) in such poor condition From Mayor Jeff Cheney's own words: "Our city has aspired to develop Grand Park for many years. In fact, the idea of Grand Park is one of the projects that inspired me to run for City Council". Well, the mayor should be inspired to resign after the opening.

A nice dirt trail that is a bit longer than a mile long. Quiet and rarely busy. I go running here on occasion. They have brochures at the beginning of thr trail to learn about the plants and wildlife (which I didn't use), and I thought that was nice. Well maintained. Feels secluded and peaceful. Recommend for anyone needing a recluse walk of sorts where they can hear bugs and birds and not get distracted with too much foot traffic. Entrance is from Cotton gin road.

An excellent trail (big bluestem trail) for a pleasant morning stroll. Although the roads are not yet paved, walking is not uncomfortable. Although the trail is mostly level, there are a few brief height changes. While it is wide open and has plenty of trees and flora, it can be a little noisy because of the area's proximity to the roadways. Additionally, it appears to be pet-friendly, and the area is full with kind, smiling individuals. Enjoy your hike!

Eager for Grand Park to really take off as it has so much pitential. But they are finally off with a much needed natural surface trail in Frisco. I'm hoping they will keep with this mindset and extend the trail to the whole perimeter of the park. They should consider wood chips or crushed gravel to prevent mud so it can be used year round regardless of weather. This could become the home cross country course of high schools, maybe even bigger meets could be held if they...
