I loved so many aspects of this place I was impressed. It had only one negative. As the trailer is entering the water, the slope becomes so gentle, I had to back me vehicle 5 feet into the water to get my boat to float up. I did not want to put my vehicle in salt water. This was a huge negative. This is a deal breaker for me.
I use boat ramps all over the place and have never seen one this gently sloped. Getting down to the water looked normal, but at the waters edge the incline decreased. In the last 10 different boat ramps I have used, I have never had to back my vehicle into the water. I cannot go back to this boat ramp again. You have been warned.
Other than the decreasing slope at the waters edge, this is one of the nicest boat launch areas I have been to.
Oh ya, coming out, the current was so swift and it was windy, it took me ten try's to get my boat lined up with the trailer well enough, to power my way up. 8 times out of 10, I get my boat lined up perfectly in the first try. But not at this place. This place set my new nightmare record. Another reason I cant come back here. I don't like scratching my boat up as it bounces off the trailer at weird angles because the approach cannot stay straight.
Its a shame. I loved everything else about this place. Except for those two huge flaws, this could have become my favorite boat launch site. But instead its...
Read moreThis is a great place to spend some time with the family. A really nice pik-nik area, camp grounds, and boat launch.
For me personally, their accessible fishing along more than 100 yards of the bank is priceless. The owner has built a 6' wide side walk along the bank, allowing for wheelchair access to the shoreline. I have personally fished and caught brim and catfish around the docks, boat launch, and straight out from the bank.
Folks with a disability know how hard it can be to find a safe place with wheelchair access to fish. Iff you enjoy fresh water fishing, you'll enjoy this beautiful marina...
Read moreA big shout out to Trout Creek for many great memories. I've found the camp to be a bit of serenity and beauty when you need a break from the world. Whether you are going on a tour, kayak ride, fishing or simply having a picnic in the park, this place never disappoints. Lastly, it's a wonderful place where I can enjoy nature and feel safe running/exploring with my dog. The staff always wave and say, "Hi" and welcome us with open arms. Thank you from the bottom of our...
