Duck Lake Channel — Attraction in Fruitland Township

My wife and myself grow up at this beautiful Duck Lake channel. Lake Michigan on one side and a warmer Duck Lake on the other side with large sand dunes all around. It was a fantastic place to hangout esp back in the 60s and 70s go swimming to exploring, build a fire and eat and enjoy the whole day. After our kids were born they grow up there as well. Living only a couple miles from the channel the kids road there bikes and would have a blast lots of times they'd stay all day just like Mom and Dad did at there age. We all love growing up in this area. Its changed some but you all should check it out. The people on the beach are always friendly it's a great place for the whole family.Store just down the road with places to spend the night. Beautiful...

Well let me tell you... It was a nice day and we were out fishing from the shore. Suddenly white supremacist goggle fishing guy swam up and started fishing in front of us. I can't make this up. He yells, "Hey, I'm trying to fish here! Are you guys down with white power?". The best afternoon fishing ever. Duck Lake channel is a great place to take kids for a day at the beach, because it has such a large shallow area that tends to be warmer than the big lake. Lots of room for everyone to play on a beautiful day, with access to Lake Michigan as well!
