The locals are all creepy. Had one missing all her teeth swerve and try to run me over w/her car. Dilapidated drug houses separated by a wire fence surrounding campus. You cant combine scholarships. No academic with athletic or extras.(i.e. Choir and media). The living requirements are absurd. They require you to live on campus UNTIL YOU ARE 23! That's an extra 10K/yr + required meal plan of 4K+. I was told I had to live on campus the first year, then after I submit my deposit, it became age 23.
The dorm bathrooms don't have locks. At any moment, 3 other people from 2 other rooms can barge in on you.
Additionally, on their website, it says they offer residency waivers. I made it clear I lived on a farm and needed to return home to help my mom. After I paid the deposit, I was told "we do not do waivers. The requirements are on our website and we DO adhere to them". Obviously not, because the website says you offer waivers. And then they claim they don't. Just another $$ hungry U.
Applying is a pain too. At the end of it tall, I had filled out three applications all from their website, just to be told 2 of them were from third party websites.
Also, one of the ASL instructors was kinda rude- not to me but to Mr. John. I knew some sign and we were communicating back and forth so there wasn't a reason for me to look at the lady interpreting for him behind me. At one point, it became necessary for me to do so and when I turned around, she was making these absolutely obnoxious facial expressions (arching her brows and doing this weird wiggly tongue thing like she was silent yodeling.. or choking to death, idk which) and exaggerated mouth motions. Very disrespectful to Mr. John and completely unnecessary. Also, as of January 20th 2023 they still have not sent out my tuition refund. Ridiculous. When I asked why it had not been sent out Edie told me she could not tell me because it "wasn't...
Read moreTo be honest my first year here has been a nightmare they say the accommodate students with 504s and things like that but i didn’t get mine till half way also they say oh if you are just not showing up or struggling we will reach out they never did. I got so depressed at one point that I did not feel like showing up to class because stress got a hold of me and I was struggling so bad there because help was not available and no one reached out when my grades started slipping. I lost my scholarship for the outdoor sports program as my gpa was not high enough and no one was willing to work with me to be like hey I see your grades are going down what can we help with so you keep your gpa up? Like they said they would when we gone to look at the school. They just with no warning up and said your gpa is bad now you have no scholarship anymore. I can’t afford to go there anymore because the scholarship was the only thing that was even making it possible. I worked so hard in classes to pass with no help like I was supposed to have and I still failed. Some of the friends I made there also are leaving because of how poorly they have been treated there. I had such high hopes for this school but it was a...
