This rest stop is on 45 headed south towards Dallas/ Denton coming out of Oklahoma. I have driven cross country before and am an avid traveler when it comes to road trips so I have seen countless road stops. This one here takes the cake. It is fantastic and they did a really wonderful job on it. The building is sturdy, comfortable and clean. It provides several amenities and I will be making this a routine stop when driving through the area. They have pamphlets for all of texas, each section but region. They provide maps and even coloring books for traveling kiddos. The bathrooms are very clean and the information counter is actually manned. There is a room with chairs for watching international videos, as well as a great scenic view. They have an outdoor seating area as well as a lovely fireplace. I would recommend stopping here is...

I usually stop here to feed my son while we travel. I've never used the restrooms here, so i can't speak on the cleanliness of them. The area is well maintained on the outside, so I'm sure the restrooms are well kept too. The memorial that's here gets lots of attention, and is actually nice to look at while the baby eats.

Update: finally used the bathroom here... Women's restroom is down to 1 useable sink. The bathrooms are exactly as you'd expect to see at a rest stop like this... Some days are better than others. Some days it looks like kids went in a had a party with the toilet paper, and other days it's not that bad. The toilets are usually in working order, but I've been a few times when it has 1 useable toilet šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø it happens, but not...

I initially was just making a pit stop when I saw the soldier statue and wanted a closer look.

It's hard to imagine so many lives lost during any war. I was told that WWII had guys drafted into their 30s. When I was 4, James Spivey, that I knew as Jim, came to church wearing a marine uniform. He was bound for Vietnam. The next I saw him, he was in a casket wearing that same uniform.

The rest area was a very nice place to stop. The dedication to those Texans who died defending our ultimate freedom is greatly appreciated.

I didn't go into the visitor's center, but I don't think it would be disappointing. They also had wooden rocking chairs in various areas inside of...

My buddy and I traveled to Oklahoma to spend the day collecting fossils. He had never been to any state's travel center. We passed the Oklahoma travel center before they opened, so I made sure to stop at the Texas one on the return trip. It's a nice, clean, and most importantly, climate controlled facility. The attendant was very nice. We collected literature about other possible destinations for future trips and got the new, "Don't mess with Texas" dia delos muertos themed posters. They are free and very cool. I think my friend will make a point to stop at more travel centers in the future.

⭐Calming, Clean, Beautiful Rest Stop⭐ If you're traveling from Oklahoma to Texas or vice versa, this tourist information center makes a great rest stop. There are several "artifacts" that make great "road trip" photo spots (such as a statue depicting the state itself). The interior features bathrooms, pamphlets about local sightseeing spots, and some lovely places to sit and take in the Texan scenery. I've included several photos that capture the coziness and authenticity of the interior.
