This rest stop is on 45 headed south towards Dallas/ Denton coming out of Oklahoma. I have driven cross country before and am an avid traveler when it comes to road trips so I have seen countless road stops. This one here takes the cake. It is fantastic and they did a really wonderful job on it. The building is sturdy, comfortable and clean. It provides several amenities and I will be making this a routine stop when driving through the area. They have pamphlets for all of texas, each section but region. They provide maps and even coloring books for traveling kiddos. The bathrooms are very clean and the information counter is actually manned. There is a room with chairs for watching international videos, as well as a great scenic view. They have an outdoor seating area as well as a lovely fireplace. I would recommend stopping here is...

The area is well maintained on the outside, so I'm sure the restrooms are well kept too. The memorial that's here gets lots of attention, and is actually nice to look at while the baby eats.
Update: finally used the bathroom here... Women's restroom is down to 1 useable sink. The bathrooms are exactly as you'd expect to see at a rest stop like this... Some days are better than others. The toilets are usually in working order, but I've been a few times when it has 1 useable toilet š¤¦āāļø it happens, but not...

The rest area was a very nice place to stop. The dedication to those Texans who died defending our ultimate freedom is greatly appreciated.
I didn't go into the visitor's center, but I don't think it would be disappointing. They also had wooden rocking chairs in various areas inside of...
