San Felasco Park — Attraction in Gainesville

For a Park that sits kind of in the middle of a city one would not really know it was so...if not for the occasional sound of traffic. At least you can't see traffic, but you can hear it. It's not enough to stop me from visiting every day tho! If I could help this great little treasure in any way, I would encourage everyone to pick up after your pet, and kids, that no matter how small you may think the "mess" is...it's NEVER pleasant to try getting poo out of the waffle tread on the bottom of shoes...so please nature lovers, take a moment to pick it up. Oki so actually not the greatest place for biking. Trails are too narrow with too many giant roots and fallen trees. Really hurts the spice box going over all the bumps. Can't imagine how painful it would be with a frank and beans. The paved section is nice, while it lasts. Comes out into a subdivision less than a half mile down 😕 one star for clean bathrooms, one for picnic tables and trash cans, and one star for being dog friendly!...

Great park with some nice walking trails that is somewhat secluded. It does connect with Millhopper park somewhere. Very peaceful and not overcrowded. There are trails on both sides of the entrance road, more swamp areas on the north side, which are really pretty but kind of eerie, and maybe more walking area on the south side.
