Beautiful prairie wildflowers. This 100-acre natural area was acquired by Jo Daviess Conservation Foundation and now belongs to the city of Galena. Very pretty in summer or fall for hiking or photography, or to listen to the songs of grassland birds. Vista of downtown Galena from the trail.

Tool my 2 year old for an adventure this morning, and it was excellent! The main path is just over half a mile, and mostly level, so he was able to walk it with ease. The views of Galena were absolutely gorgeous.

What a great space! Found an antler drop. Truly a treasure of Galena. First prescribed burn on the 80 acre addition. Good stuff will explode to life this year.

This is a new park with hiking trails and picnic tables in various locations. There is some nice trail signage, only problem is the signs don't show where you are. Some of the trails are basically mowed grass and a bit rough. Galena can be seen in...

Could be a great hike. The trail maps do not accurately portray direction (N, S, E, W), very easy to get turned around. No "you are here" on the maps. Do not go here if you only have an hour to hike. Might take you 3 hours to find your way back to...
