Playground is old, they tore down the water slide, and the lake is dirty, but it's still a fun place to play, there is plenty of space so sports of activities, and there are tons of picnic tables scattered around. There's also electricity in all the shelters. You can rent out the pavilion building for special events, too, with a view to the lake and access to the "beach" where you can swim (if you dare, and plenty of people do!). The walking trails are paved, so it's easy to bring bikes or strollers and the trails are pretty well maintained. Bathrooms are disgusting, but it's a public park. That's normal.

We went to the beach and the water was disgusting. I am aware it was the end of the season but goose feces was everywhere and the water looked slimy. We had an excellent time at the beach playing (away from the goose droppings) and just relaxing. The kids rented a boat and paddled around the lake. The campground was amazing, showers were good not great no temperature control and you had to pull a rope to turn the water one. It was a very nice time and will definitely definitely go back.

Very pretty park with lots of walking and bike paths. Picnic areas and pavilions too. There is a two story event hall that used to have dances back in the 30's and 40's with a sandy beach behind. I also saw but didn't visit public bathrooms, a boat ramp, and a campground. Lots of restaurants and shopping close by too.

It has gone downhill since I was younger. The trails aren't cleared off so hike at your own risk, somebody had all their stuff sprawled out across the dock so others couldn't use it the ramp down to the dock had huge divots in it making it hazardous, the bathrooms weren't awful but they weren't nice either but what can you expect from a camp ground public shower, another thing about the bathrooms the only thing between a person taking a shower and the rest of the campground are a couple shower curtains and a screen door that doesn't even latch not very good. The doors to the toilet stalls didn't latch either. Now I love going camping but this place needs some work. I wish i could say this was still my favorite...

3.5. For an easy, cheap spot, this is ok, but many sites aren't very level. Tight, narrow roads and turns. But good spacing between sites. They have done good flat 50amp spots but no shade. We had our pick of sites. Tried and a couple spots before settling on a slightly downhill sloped paved spot full of shade on 90 degree day. Just electric at our spot, but that's all we wanted fur a night stop. No amenities, but the price was good for it's purpose.

For places that don't offer amenities, it's hard to give about 4 stars. Would we stay here again? Yes, but only for that quick stop stay for...
