Lake Storey — Attraction in Galesburg

We went to heritage days. The place was packed with those telling of their craft as is 1846 time OMG they nailed it. The undertaker's daughter took the show. She is so well versed in her roll. I even tossed her a question about why no shoes. She didn't miss a beat and replied they cost $4.00 and we only worn on specific times. We could only get a few of them all were great. Next year we plan for more time. The assortment of vendors was way more than I thought it would be. Gotta try the soda from back when. We bought the big bottle of sassafras root beer. Refills on it for lifetime. They had games that the children would have played. It was all hands on for that. My girls tried some. They are the book worm type. I can't say enough good about the event Lisa at the gate suggested we do the different presenters backwards from the list we were given. Drove from Pekin IL to enjoy the beach. Sadly it was a very small area and even worse there were about 4-5 other people I didnt know and about every other word was a curse word.
