The beach was ok for Galveston, the water wasn’t super kelpy or too brown. What is making me leave such a low review for a generally good beach is what happened at the showers. They are supposed to turn the water off at 6, so we finished up at the beach at around 5:30-45 and got to using the showers. There was a truck parked there that we didn’t really notice that comes into play later. Seeing as there wasn’t anyplace that was clean to set our stuff down we took turns holding each other’s stuff while we showered. First my sister, then my mom rinsed off, and while my mom was using the water it suddenly shut off. We checked the time to make sure it wasn’t 6 and it was 5:55. Then we heard someone moving around behind then saw someone get into the truck and sit for a second and then leave. We then realized he was the one to turn the water off ahead of time while people were using it. I wouldn’t be as mad if he had just talked to us and told us he was turning it off soon because that would have made us faster considering he turned it off early. Then we had to go to Buc-ee’s to finish...

Very crowded, but clean beach. Def one of the better beaches in the Galveston area. The cops patrolling the parking are not the best, parking signs are good in some areas and missing in others. In the areas there are no parking signs/instructions the police will wait until you park and unload your family out, walk to the beach and then will give you a parking ticket. Thankfully a good samaritan was also waiting to warn families about what was happening to help prevent others from getting a ticket. Beach police will sit in their car and watch you make a parking “mistake” and...

Well, being from South Florida, my friends warned me that it would not be like home, but overall, we had a great time. Warm water, rather calm waves, perfect for relaxing.

The umbrellas and chairs are rather overpriced. We didn't try food, but I would suggest bringing your own cooler. This is also one of the areas where...

Beach was clean. Water was clean as well with calm waves. Nothing compared to Egyptian beaches tho(dahab, gouna, north coast, sharm el sheikh). The water isn’t blue even though it’s clean and everything. I think it’s because of the dark sand. Also I wished there were any showers or toilets. It’s a public beach with free parking

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!! The beach was cleaned, maybe too clean because there were no sea shells bigger than my pinky nail we could bring home, but it was fun for a few hours. Nice white sand walking to the water then the Gulf hits it.
