I was so sad and disappointed. I booked a private party for a dear friend. I first visited Cairn and absolutely fell in love with the place. I spoke with the owners booked a date almost 2 months in advanced went over how it was going to be and was given a price. They took very specific notes & we confirmed how it would be. I went up there ever couple weeks to visit taking new friends and family. I reminded them party arrangements each time I even went the Wednesday before to confirm and spoke to the owner and manager. I got there Saturday NOTHING was ready. They completely forgot about us. No table reserved, there was supposed to be a food table set up - it wasn’t there. The table I was promised had someone else’s name on it. I was told by their manager it was because I didn’t speak to him directly but I did that Wednesday before. They tried to pull it all together. I kept my cool by serving everyone in my party water helping to arrange our table. They brought out food and wine but we had a long wait. Trying to focus on my friend we made the best of it. Reminding the owner of what we spoke about, she got out her book found what we had agreed on so I hoped it was resolved. Then when we went to pay they charged me double almost triple what I was quoted and again I was told it was because I didn’t speak to the right people. The manager acknowledged it wasn’t what I was told but I was still over charged. I had to get upset for it to get close to the number I was told. Not the way I wanted the day to go at all. It was all handled very poorly. I’m not sure who the correct people are but when you plan a special day, speak repeatedly to the owners and manager in person spend a few hundred dollars it should be the way you ask. Not to mention between all my visits bring 30 plus new people to your winery. They did give me 2 cards for buy 1 glass get 1 free but the day that was supposed to be fun and relaxing celebrating a dear friend ended up being so stressful I don’t want to go back. It’s not about the money it’s about the expectations of an experience, being blamed for it going wrong, & it not being resolved while I was there. I was only contacted after I left a...

Read moreThis was our first time there and we weren't sure what to expect. but thankfully we were pleasantly surprised! The website strongly recommended reservations but we were running behind so we weren't sure what was going to happen when we got there. Thankfully it wasn't crowded. My wife and I checked in at the stand just inside the door and we got seated outside (just under the awning near the water fountain). It was relaxing. Good views and great wine. I'm a sweet wine guy so I did the sweet wine tasting. It is cool that they serve the wine tastings in little carafes so you can pour it yourself when you are ready. Some wines come with a bite sized snack to compliment it, also very cool. Hardly anyone does that. We ordered a charcuterie board and it was a good size. My wife and I spent a few hours there just drinking, snacking and relaxing. We met the owner, who talked with us for a little while. The other staff is really friendly too. I would say give this winery a try, I enjoyed myself while visiting. And they also have a Bed and Breakfast on the property too, so if wine is not your thing you can always give that a go too! Or... stay the weekend at the B&B and drink and eat to your hearts...
