What a great experience! Well worth the investment and time. You get your own two-person water craft that is easy to drive with plenty of speed. The 2-hour tour was the perfect amount of time. Jordan our guide was great. He was helpful, nice, and knowledgeable (and so was his mom who was along for the ride). He led us up the Intercoastal to the north end of St. Simons Island and then back down the Frederica River. We saw wildlife, learned about the coastal backwaters, and passed Fort Frederica and pass beautiful homes along the Frederica River. In between was watercraft fun. We were free to maneuver and enjoy the very cool and speedy boats. The grand finale was ending up in the middle of a dolphin pod and Jordon let us float and maneuver among them for some time (how he gets the dolphins to meet him at the end of the trip I do not know). All kidding aside, they can pop up anywhere and my guess is they usually do. So, if you are looking to spend a couple of hours that combines getting to drive a cool watercraft, seeing the St. Simons coastal backcountry and its wildlife, and enjoying the sun and sea, this is your ticket. Our family highly recommends this adventure!

If you have never been on a craigcat boat, you are missing out on a truly great adventure! The beauty of the Golden Isles comes to life with this tour. Our guide was amazing and shared so much information about the islands, and natural habitat in the area, answering any questions we had. The most beautiful part of the tour (to me) were the pink Spoonbills - that turn this color due to a diet of mostly shrimp - and they were incredible. The boats are easy to maneuver and so much fun! I would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for something exciting to do on their vacation, or for anyone interested in trying out a Craigcat if interested in buying one!

We had a great time on the tour. Once we got the hang of the boat it was a blast. Step outside of your comfort zone and try something new. We saw dolphins and beautiful birds along the way. The guides were great and knowledgeable about the area as well. Coastal Backwater Adventures is a must do in St. Simons. They accept cash and venmo tips y’all.

This was our second time doing a tour with Coastal Backwater Adventures, and it was just as incredible as the first! We first did this experience three years ago, and it was our favorite part of our trip. The highlight was a pod of dolphins swimming right next to us, close enough to touch. As soon as we started planning our return to the Golden Isles, we knew we had to do it again. We just left the ramp and we’re already planning our next trip to bring our daughter.

Our guide, Jordan, was amazing. He qas super friendly, informative, and clearly passionate about the local waters and wildlife. The CraigCats are such a fun and unique way to explore the area. They are easy to handle and super fun to ride.

While the dolphins are my favorite, we also saw tons of birds and other wildlife, cruised past St. Simons Island, and even got some fantastic views of Cumberland Island and the historic Fort Frederica. The blend of nature, history, and just pure fun made this an unforgettable experience.

If you're visiting St. Simons, Jekyll, or anywhere near the Golden Isles, this is a must-do activity. It’s the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and discovery. Huge thanks to Jordan and the Coastal Backwater Adventures team. We’ll definitely...
