A great place for families..... AS LONG AS YOU'RE NOT HANDICAPPED... My brother and I like to find new places to go fishing and have a good time. Saw this park on the web here and looked it over and we liked what we saw as far as fishing goes. We get here this morning and get my mobility scooter unloaded, then we get all of our fishing gear unloaded and put in our wagon to ease around to the far side of the lake, because there is a nice wide walking path all the way around the lake. So we of course think to ourselves SCORE! No signs anywhere saying no wheelchairs allowed. DOUBLE SCORE! The ONLY sign on the path is the one in picture attached below. That's great, no one will be driving vehicles around us while we relax and fish. We get over halfway around the lake and then Miss Ma'am comes rolling up on her golf cart and proceeds to tell me that my mobility scooter is not allowed on the path. The only difference in my scooter and a power wheelchair is the steering. (Wheelchair has a joystick on side, my scooter has a steering column in front) ..... So, handicapped people beware of this park. It was made perfectly clear to me this morning that we're not...

I've had an Armadillo walk up on me on multiple counts, I also found an eastern box turtle's nesting area (I visit him frequently, sometimes I'll feed him strawberries). I even witnessed a crane eat a one foot bass right in front of me. These are just a few examples of the beautiful moments I've encountered here with the wildlife.
This park has a nice long trail that loops around the lake and even goes through the woods. It's a really peaceful walk, and it's never too busy. The park is usually litter free, and they have clean public bathrooms. The staff here always seem to be hard at work, and it doesn't go unnoticed. Everyone here is usually always friendly and respectful.
Overall, it's a very well maintained park that offers...
