West Dam Beach — Attraction in Georgia

The place is Awesome. The combination of park and beach is great. Great bbq areas and shade. Could have been better if we didn't over pay for parking. Parking is 5 dollars. Gave the guy at the booth a 20. he gave me 2 fives and a bag with change. the change was only about 2 dollars.

Its free to go here u only pay $5 for parking. If he didn't have proper change he should have said something and/ or just gave us a parking pass. I would've paid on my way out when change...

West Dam Beach is great! It has several beach areas to choose from and plenty of parking. I like the water more at West Dam than some other areas of the lake. It's much clearer and prettier. The views are so nice from all the beach areas at West Dam. The bathrooms are located close by each of the beaches, so that's a plus. The only thing I don't really like is that there's not many picnic tables, so get there...

Great area for picnic and a swim! My wife and I just stopped in the area for nostalgic reasons. (Very clean and well maintained.) will go back! We would go there in the late 70s early 80s prior to all the upgrades. People would come out and throw a blanket out on the big open grassy area and just have a great time.
