This attraction is pretty, but even prettier if you have the money for the tours . Though be it in other states , if you are clever about what's "really exciting" , you'll find equal attraction for free elsewhere as well as in Georgia for free. You are free to look at what is more "exciting" other places for someone not paying for the tour. The only unique capture will be the sound of jets flying over ...The tunnel itself is closed to the public , it's a small town so I'm not surprised they squandered the situation to raise revenue, it works keeps it from becoming graffitied lol... Dear Railfanners ,with the right film equipment wanting a tunnel train, stick around the signals the train is coming , your clue to cue will be when that golf cart full of "Old Money" comes...
Read moreVery much historic & well maintained heritage site. We had a great time, they have two tours to choose from or a combination of both - Visitor center with musem Clisby house, hospital, general store which has post office & everything you needed during those days and the Western Atlantic rail road tunnel built during 1700s. There is also the current rail road tunnel which is still active today built in 1928. The old tunnel is around 1500ft long & is well lit and maintained. Lady who took us through the tour was Amazing! She was so much into history & very keen to share a lot of information about the Clisby family who owned the land & some of the civil war history. Overall a good historic place to visit, you might spend close to 2 hours for...

Pack a picnic lunch and stay long enough to take it all in. The folks are wonderful, warm, and welcoming. They are very knowledgeable and will take great pleasure in guiding you and answering your questions. So many treat children the age of my grandson as a nuisance, but these folks made every effort to ensure he had a pleasant memorable experience, leaving not just amused but also enlightened. It was a good first-stop on our history tour as his interest was piqued and he was inspired to learn more. We plan to return this summer for a...
