I love this nature center. The staff and volunteers are all knowledgable and friendly. They are always willing to talk with the kids and help us in various ways. The events that we attend are fun, as well as educational, and keep the kids engaged for the duration.

I often just decide last minute to go to the nature center and my 4-year-old loves it. He enjoys looking at the mock pond inside the center and checking on the live snake. He also enjoys the childrens corner with the puppets, origami, and other various activities to do.

On nice days, we often spend a lot of time in the outdoor play area. The rock harp is always a favorite as well as the fish pond. Sometimes we play in the sandbox and fairy garden too. In warm weather they also set out a small water table for the kids to play in.

Just today we participated in the Storytime on the Lake event. It was so fun and very interesting! They read two books to the children and we cruised around the whole lake. It was so beautiful and we got to see all kinds...

Such an awesome place. My family have been visiting this place since my kids were very young. We came here for fishing and yes we did catch some. Also boating is great here in summer. You can also do picnics and host any type of parties. I think no alcoholic beverages allowed here. You have to reserve the booth though. There is a dog park as well. And you can go on a long hike. Ride your bike or go for jogging. Trails are really nice. We recently had 5K walk and run here. It is really nice place to bring your kids for playing or just to toss the freebie around. Your pets will also appreciate you for bringing them here. I have always seen big birthday parties at...

The Black Hill Regional Park is a beautiful public park filled with woodlands, playgrounds, picnic shelters, and a lake. There are boats available and plenty of space for any activity. There is an educational garden shed complete with green roof, rain barrels, and tools for everyone to try gardening. There are flower beds to water with little watering cans, and a digging space for girls and boys to get into earth. Benches are scattered throughout the space do one can have a restful sit watching butterflies or the birds over the water. Dogs are welcome and a dog park is available to play off leash. Get outside and...

Love this place. Not too crowded but even when there are a good number of people around there is plenty of parking. They have kayaks and paddle boards and more to take out on the lake. The lake is enormous and you have pretty decent visibility into the water too so you can see some fish and turtles in the water. They have both paved and dirt trails that ramble through the park. There is a good amount of wildlife around too--just on a short walk today I saw a ground hog, fox, several Chipmunks, rabbit and deer. I don't believe there is a fee to enter either.

Plenty of benches to sit outside and enjoy the butterflies, birds and plants or watch the people on the lake. You can rent boats (kayak, canoe, paddleboats or rowboats) and the boat rental center which is down the hill from the visitor center. You can rent boats by the hour oele for the entire day. They have a large selection of life jackets (adult and child size).
