I enjoy early morning sunrise hikes with my dogs. The dog park here is mostly gravel, but fairly spacious. My dog sustained a puncture wound to her ear by another dog while there so we avoid the dog park and just walk the trails. The sunrises are beautiful and you can find plenty of space to sit on a nice sunny day and soak in the sun. There's playgrounds for kids and Pavillion you can rent for parties and events.
