Gunstock Nordic Center — Attraction in Gilford

We went here as a group of 27 teens and adults. The Gunstock Nordic ski center team was very efficient - they had all our rental gear ready to go when we arrived with our names on the skis, so there was no standing in line etc. The only reason for 4 stars is because there was no tap for drinking water and no real food at the center.

They had a nice mix of trails. The better trails were across the road from the ski center. The team did a good job of grooming the trails despite the less than snowy winter we've had this year and the record warmth on the day we were there. I would definitely...

The trails were great, and had beautiful views of the forest and lake. Conditions were okay, but limited snow recently, so I don't blame them. I was however surprised at the service by the staff in the center. They were unfriendly and acted like they did not want us there. I will not mince words. I should have given iz a zero, or a negative ten. The place has the worst grooming and the most miserable trail conditions of any xc ski area I have visited over the past thirty years. Ten minutes spent there are enough to kill one's I terest in xc skiing for the rest...
