Busy, primitive park, with dirt trails, one or two port a potties in parking lot, little to no security. A dumpster or two for garbage, which fills fast. When you can get past all those limitations, it's a rocky beach, but it's the Clackamas river, and it's cold generally, with gorgeous scenery all around.

Riverside park is always a fun time. Clean water, and a great place to launch or land a float with friends! Bring good river shoes or sandals to save you feet some aches. 😆. Sunblock is a must! Please help to clean up by grabbing a park provided trash bag on the way to the water.

Not recommend for children. Dog friendly. AND YES it IS located behind a community of Safeway warehouses.

Been coming for 25 years. It's one of my fav close-in river access points . With that said, Because it's so close, you MUST be aware of your surroundings because both the river and the people it attracts can be Extremely Dangerous.

Be prepared for a real life "Wild West meets Detroit' experience on the Clackamas River.

#1 The river is FAST AND DEEP. no joke. People die here every year by not being smart or experienced on the river. I wouldn't recommend this spot for children/kids. It's not Really family friendly but with that said I've taken our kids many times because they are experienced on the river. If your kids have ONLY been exposed to pools or lakes, there are many other less dangerous locations.

#2 Be prepared to encounter groups of drunk people partying & the garbage & noise that accompanies.

#3 Be prepared to hike(yes hike). The best spots are located to the left of the parking lot, around /behind the fence. Then walk and walk until your beer coolers ice melts 1/2 way (or spilled atleast once)

#4 Basically no restrooms. There Are some but for show only!! No One (NO ONE)Ever Uses them for their intended purpose.

#5 Hot days & weekends plan to walk, A lot. Parking lot will be full, and people parked rude-ly.

If by this point your saying to yourself" ugh , this sounds terrible ', you'll probably think the same when you arrive. For those of you who are ready to put on your big girl pants, have a big dog, ever attended Burning Man, or visited High Rocks..... don't worry you'll have an Amazing time. It's truly a beautiful gem in the urban forest where you'll possibly find a diamond in the rough(figuratively speaking). If you do , yes; you can be irritated at me for writing a review. I didn't tell anyone for 25 years until today.(native Oregonian...

This park is one of my favs Discovered by the swimming hole days. Or we had to jump off everything . Bridges, cliffs, giant rocks, Train tressels. Someone told us we went Hooked first day Aug 1999 was said it's a party in the middle of Clackamas. It's perfect to take girls there.they will usually need help to get up on it's tricky At least that year it was deep. It changes every year From winter flooding All in all if you not a river Otter. Again novice swimmers Suggested to go to the Pillars. We raft our music, food, Drinks . Lots of sun no shade in middle of river. Most folks never see this or would want to. Riverside park itself another story.this time is the old Swimming hole Wich is all about beeis beautifulrs and babe's in bikinis. The pillars are basically beyond the park . Quarter mile east of park Still Riverside to me. The actual park is amazing it's next to waste water plant has nothing to do with park . The park it's self beautiful Boat ramp is real easy . It has a porta potty designed for handicapped Wheelchair porta potty Plus I like that there's trash Cans all over or midsize Dumpster. Pack in take out to were trash belongs. They have a nice base ball Area. Not part of park seems To much to say about this Place two thumbs up And a...

Twice we attempted to spend a great day on the river. Once last year, and for the second time today. We were hassitante to go back as we felt very unwelcome by locals who frequent the place. We were told the table we set up at was theirs, and they decided to take down my sun umbrella attached to my folding chair. We felt unwanted and left even though we packed to spend a wonderful day at the river picnicking. Today we got there, set up our little spot under a tree out of everyone's way. Blew up our floaties and headed into that gorgeous cool water. We barely got into the water when people moved into our spot. Throwing their belongings with ours and using our chairs. Rude, but ok. We get out, walk up and her dog attacked us. Barking, theeth showing, and jumping in our faces. She could care less. The dog was protecting her. From what? Us trying to eat something out of our OWN food. Never gotta eat or enjoy any more of the river. Had to pack up and leave. She would not leave the spot with her dogs. Yes plural. Maybe if you have violent animals leave them home, or let people be . We thought this was public, but it feels more like trespassing on...
