My mother and have been loyal students and have taken wonderful classes here . We have attended shows and summer camps the experience has always been positive . So it’s not a surprise this is the space we would choose to attempt and host my little sisters Quince at . The event space is lovely . Honestly if I could give the management zero stars I completely would . We started working with Nancy Allen and obviously when you give information on an event you are supposed to go give the full packet of Information . Nancy did NOT DO THAT, we kept having to ask and reach out and she was extremely unattainable and unhelpful it really seemed like she was just trying to make us spend as much as we could instead of giving us all the information and all of the prices upfront. MIND YOU , we paid for half of the space upfront and decided to pay the over half later , which we told Nancy , after having multiple issues with Nancy and her having a distasteful attitude towards us , we simply decided to cancel the event here and go somewhere else where we felt there was more professionalism and better treatment towards customers . After this whole experience and trying to get in touch with the President Kay Alferio who I briefly explained over voicemail the situation I have still not heard back . I understand work is difficult and maybe there’s a lot going on but time management is a skill I would expect an event planner to have to resolve issues and a CEO , over all the experience has not been positive which is truly a shame since we wanted to pay tribute with my sisters childhood ending and her stepping into womanhood in the place she practically...
Read moreI don't know what's happened to this place. In the past I took a few classes here and they were decent, with some actual interesting art options, especially with jewelry and the no longer existing culinary arts. But now, first off the times suggest that most of the classes cater to retirees and second, the offerings are very generic, uninspired, and basically consist of extremely beginner techniques at best for most art areas. Plus the class fees are high. I say this with the knowledge that the funds pay the instructor and for the space, but what is the justification for $65for a course that only lasts 2 or 3 hours when the student is then required to pay for materials equal to that cost plus bring his or her own tools? Very disappointing, and even though I keep coming back to check, it's all I see and it's why I haven't been registering for any...
Read moreHard to believe my lifelong neighborhood would embarrass us with the show I attended last night. With so much LOCAL talent so close by. My friends and family for generations have played music here while out of town people are being paid to embarrass themselves.and Glen Allen. Wake up Henrico county , let the awesome high school kids learning get some instruction from the great musicians and singers in the area. Let locals come in and teach or just jam in the same building we went to school in and let them know what the real world of music is about not the show I saw . They must never have heard the real Patsy Cline , get those Menzies family, Frost, Greer, Atkinson’s, pick out a street in Glen Allen everyone has a musician , singer ,let them show u...
