Cobre Valley Center for the Arts — Attraction in Globe

Nice escape from the Phoenix heat!

Our visit to Cobre Valley Center for the Arts began with a docent's review of the old courthouse and its conversion to the center for the Arts. We wandered freely through the many rooms converted to art galleries. It was quite interesting and enjoyable. All the art is for sale. There is also a small gift shop and a free seed exchange library! Admission to the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts is free!

While you're in Globe, make a day of it! There are good restaurants among the old buildings in the historic district and multiple other historical museums to visit, including The Gila County Historical Museum, the old County Sheriff's Office and Jail which is located behind the Arts center, and Besh-Ba-Gawah Archaeological...

This place is a must see for anyone visiting, and a regular stop for anyone who lives here. The historical value alone is just awesome. The tours, local artwork in the gallery and gift shop, and the theatre shows make this one of the brightest gems of Globe. Step inside the old County Courthouse and you will be asked if you've ever been there before. If you haven't, you're in for a treat, as Wil (or one of the other employees) will fill you in on much of the history of the building, and that of the old jail next door. Definitely...

This was a nice spot to cool off at and enjoy some art; it's a series of steps to get up. The admission is free although donations are welcome. Inside there are various rooms with art- and most are for sale. There were many different styles, including abstract. The employees made me feel at home, even showing me the downstairs antique area. Looks like the upstairs is closed, but very beautiful...
