Of all the Gloucester beaches this is one of the more relaxed ones. Very protected area with little to no waves, good for families. Lots of shells and stones around so it is more comfortable with sandals or something on the feet. Glass can be found so be careful. You can see Boston in the distance. Off season swimming is common in March and April. 😱

Absolutely loved this tiny little beach! We had a little time to explore before our whale watching cruise, so we went for a drive and stumbled upon this beach. We immediately parked and walked out there, thoroughly enjoying ourselves for a few minutes before heading back. It’s beautiful, feels private, and was very clean.

beach with pebbly sand everywhere. clear with clean water year round. Beach sticker parking only. ☹ no bathroom, although they have the portable bathrooms that would be the Eastside of the beach. great for kids to play. water is very swimmable. no waves or strong currents. have fun. #uber

Parking is for residents only so you may need to bike here during the season. off season, they don't seem to mind as much. It's a beautiful beach with protected waters even on stormy days. The bottom visibility is 5 to 10 feet if your attempting free diving. At least it was in the end of October 2020. Seagrass, muddy sediments crabs, starfish at 10 to 20 feet. The beach itself had nice calm waves if any and a gentle slope. I wouldn't surf here. if there are big waves, then there must be a terrible storm in...

This is the best place to come sit even if it's just parked in your car! The only place that you will get a skyline view of Boston... and the sunsets are just gorgeous... add in the sound and smell of the ocean and why would you want to be anywhere else... I'll be honest, it's not a beach I go to for swimming, I prefer big waves, but it's a great beach if you have small children (easy to keep an eye on them), or just to hang out and enjoy...

Public, yes. Beach parking is scarce on Cape Ann & many lots are for residents only. The entire parking/beach pass system here is complicated and pricey. Here parking is limited to vehicles with a City of Gloucester Beach sticker, but you can walk on or arrive by bike, no problem. We only stopped briefly to consult map. Looks nice, not a large beach. By 11am all parking...
