Don't stay after park/ trails/ beach closes at 10pm. Trails are dark, bring a good flashlight if you do. Phones I don't think cut it. Nice swim beach. But we did find some glass in the sand so be careful. Have to hike to get there, wear good shoes. Police will be there late waiting for people to come out after close. I guess sometimes shady/dangerous stuff happens there sometimes. I had a great experience for a first experience and was told by the police to not come back. 😄 a few au naturel people there, be free!!..really nice people, hippie vibes. Bonfires= illegal Grilling=illegal.. That's what the police said when we were leaving after close. We didn't get a ticket thankfully, but you might not be so lucky.

The Schaper Park Challenge Course is a Golden Valley park built to encourage participants to be active. The “ninja course” play area strives to make it possible for families of all ability levels to enjoy the park. The fitness challenge course is said to be designed for ages 13+, though we found that much younger kids also enjoy equipment that includes obstacles that participants navigate over, under, around, and through as they race against the clock. The equipment is manufactured by “Game Time” so it’s already beginning to show wear and tear.

It's hard to place Schaper Park because it's a great park for grade schoolers and Middle Schoolers but not toddlers. There's some softball diamonds nearby as well as a pond and a trail. The park is not very big and there isn't a ton of parking that's close. But if you're looking to entertain some kids, especially really active, sporty kids, this is the park to go to. There's a 40 yard dash as well as a good amount of other football training equipment that the kids can play with.

I have never seen so many adults playing on the playground with their kids. Not fake playing, either. Really challenging themselves and getting into it. From the just walking 18-month-old baby, to the 13-year-old teen girls, up to the 40-plus-year-old moms and dads. I even think there was a grandpa out there. This is a park for everyone. My 6 and 8 year old loved challenging themselves in different ways on the obstacle course, as well as racing against the timed 40 yard dash. I quickly realized that no one was going to wait in a line for one individual to traverse the timed course. Instead, I encouraged my kids to think of the ways they could challenge themselves on each section, which was satisfying. After a couple runs I also gave my 8-year-old some running tips (keep your elbows in, run for the timer instead of the finish line) and she was excited to see how quickly her times improved. When the park is busy, approach it less rules-minded, and more creative-minded, and you should have a great time. When you're thirsty, there's a drinking fountain on the backside of the park building, a bit of a walk, so bring...

This park has something for everybody! From toddlers to hard core rock climbers. This is a great training ground, and a place to burn off extra energy while testing yourself at the same time! Huge sturdy obstacle course, and a racetrack with underground panels that start a digital timer at the end of the track. Red, yellow, green- GO!! Time will stop as you reach the end of the track. Sometimes...it will miss the signal and keep the clock running. Also, my daughter is so lightweight, she doesn't even register at the beginning of the track and start the timer. I have to put my foot on it for her. It NEVER hurts to have someone else keep their own stopwatch going.

The ground is AstroTurf, but its right next to a water conservation/wild life loving nature area. Looks as if there is a paved pathway around the water. Have to come back and walk it! Also, a short walk away, there is a building with...

Schapent r park was really nice, I really came to go to but naked beach, I didn't think it was really a butt naked beach I went with my son, luckily I had him hold back a bit as soon as I saw some dudes twigs n berries swinging like a copter I did an about face and my son n I went to ceder lake, not that I mind my son seeing that kind of stuff, but the crazy liberal police would figure out some charge they pin on some one and then whom ever could be spending a grip in the joint who was just trying to feel free, we his freedom would crumble in the blink of an eye, more of new age hippie gathering to me I like that kind of stuff personally and his my ex used to be down with that crowd to but she now wants to pretend she's better than every one now and I just didn't need the head ache, deffinatly not mid she...
