The falls are about a 10 min or so hike and is a moderate hike. I've seen toddlers to elderly on the path to the falls. There are a few steps along the way tho and a 20 to 30 feet cliff along the path for people who have severe vertigo beware. The fall was still running even in the fall with an impressive current. There is a look out to have a good view but also a path to get a closer look or even make your way down to the bottom but requires a little more expertise to do so. Along the path, you also get a good overview of the town of Grand lake and part of the lake itself. The odd thing it the path to the lake and the lake itself is located within the National Park so a park pass is required as well as a spot with timed entry (in 2022 timed entry will be required till the 10th of October, patter that, it's back to free for all with a pass). We went on national park day but I'm told nobody is there to check anyways, although don't quote me on that as it's a "she said, he said" type of story here. I'd recommend still getting the pass and having a timed entry slot as well just to be on the safe side. There is a public bathroom at the entrance and a map with all the informations and wild life you may encounter such as Mountain lions and bears and various paths and distances.

This was a must-see for our Grand Lake trip. The hike to the falls was moderately challenging but quick, and the views are spectacular. Highly recommend adding to your itinerary - and the trail beyond the falls is very cool too if you keep going. When driving towards Grand Ave, the main town road, keep left instead of veering into town and you'll be at the east inlet trail for RMNP in a couple minutes. You can buy any passes you need right from your phone and be on your way to the falls and beyond.

It's a very easy to get to from the Grand lake. There is parking lot with many spots at trail head. The Falls is inside Rocky Mountain National park boundary. (But easy access from the Grand Lake .) There is bathroom at the parking lot. (East inlet Trail parking lot) Great trail if you want more than just a falls, the fall is very close to the parking lot. The East inlet Trail follow along the creek so the upstream is quit pretty at spots, stop and rest along the creek is fun also.

ALERT: The access to the trail at East Inlet is prohibited right now during morning hours unless you have purchased a timed entry ticket to RMNP for the time you want to walk. I was shocked to see the Ranger turn away several hikers that had the regular park entry pass but did not have a timed entry pass. This really seems peculiar to me since the hike starts outside the park and doesn’t involve a car. Our group luckily did have the timed pass. It’s a great hike! This rule will terminate, I presume, when the timed entry process...

This is such a beautiful waterfall that is a very short hike from the parking lot. There was plenty of parking available. After the falls, there's a trail to the right that has great views of the river above the falls. This is not a wheel chair friendly trail. It's a relatively easy trail, but there are rocks to walk over and changing pitches that may challenge someone with an injured leg or foot. Please stay on the trail. That's not only for the environmental aspect, but the waterfall is dangerous and has claimed young and...
