We were a three-generation family doing daily hikes in RMNP and this was a great, first hike, especially being close to Grand Lake, where we were staying and with not too great an elevation so that we could acclimate well enough our first day out. The trail starts out with a decent incline, levels out, winds through beautiful woods (listen closely for moose, plus you can see lots of chipmunks, which was so much fun for our two year old grandon) comes upon the Falls and then, as we chose to do, continues on to the East Meadow and East Inlet Trails, both offering amazing meadow, East Inlet Creek, and snow-capped mountain views, The Falls are impressive enough and there is a viewing platform from which to see them. The trail to the waterfall is pretty busy and we came across a moose right away. make sure you do the loop and hit the area at the top and dip your feet in the ice cold water.
