Played this course once before back during the spring a couple years back and wanted to come experience it again! I particularly remember the elevation change, challenging hole layouts, and undulations on the fairways/greens. I played on a Tuesday at noon and the front 9 took two and a half hours… the back nine was slightly better at two hours and fifteen minutes. However, never expected to play near a five hour round on a weekday. Aside from pace of play, the course was in fairly good shape (considering it is the winter season). I will say, I don’t know that I’ve ever played a course in the DFW area with greens that quick. While I’m okay with challenging and quick greens, these were almost impossible to read and keep above the hole… felt like we were putting on marble. I’m not sure if that is just due to cold/dry ground or that they cut the greens too short, but that was really more of a negative for me. I will definitely return, but it will be during the spring or summer months. Hopefully, the pace of play with continue to improve during...
Read moreI enjoy playing Tangle Ridge most of the time. This past Saturday not so much. The course itself was in decent shape. My issue was with the management and the marshals. My group booked 4 tee times back in February, starting at 8:40. Long story short, they had a large group playing Saturday afternoon at 1:30 and wanted the course cleared by 1:15. None of that was communicated to us. My issues were rangers passed us numerous times without saying a single word about our pace of play or their event. Suddenly the rangers began telling us we have to speed up to ensure we would finished prior to 1:15. All of our groups were on pace to finish well before 1:15. The marshals then literally followed us from hole to hole from #14 - #18. We understand pace of play and it's importance. Tangle Ridge marshals harassed us to the point that it became an unenjoyable experience. The guy behind the counter seemed uninterested and the marshals were wrong. Hopefully my review make them aware that better communication...
Read moreThis pains me, because I love this course so much. Pace of play has been totally unacceptable last few visits. Yesterday, 10am tee time on a Tuesday, 40 minutes behind (by their monitor) by #12. 5-10 minute wait on nearly every tee box. Not much fun on a 105 degree day.
Nov. 3, 2025- Decided to give them another try, and hit their practice range Monday afternoon. Checked their website first for any closings, events, etc. Nothing was posted. Nor were there any signs or notices upon entry. Informed at pro shop counter, "Sorry, we're closed. Got a tournament going on." I said all I wanted was to use the range. "Sorry, that's closed, too." I asked how I was supposed to have known this. I was told to basically not come there on Mondays. I'm done with this establishment. 5+ hour rounds. Knuckleheads running the place. There's a comparable course 10 minutes away with a better staff, better facility, better communication, and a guaranteed 4...
