Trying to visit all of the splash pads/spraygrounds near me this summer! My kids (both 3 years old) LOVED this one. The splash pad area is a great size and there's a button to push to keep the water going on (I believe it runs on a timer). There is a covered seating area close to the splash pad, as well as uncovered seating. Plenty of room for several families to be able to enjoy the spot. I love that it's tucked back in a neighborhood, hoping that means it won't be overrun with people regularly but that's probably wishful thinking. Took one star off because the adjoining park has mulch ground cover and I DESPISE the stuff. Can attest it's even more obnoxious when you've got a speedy 3 year old running straight from the water area into said mulch covered playground, who then trips and falls and is covered in sticks. Would love the playground area to be redone with the rubber floors all the new parks are getting these days, and then it would be perfect! Overall this sprayground is high on our ranking list and I'm sure we will be back often...
Read moreReally awesome climbing playground with a smallish splash pad to get wet. There are a couple of pavilions next to it, and I'm sure that they stay rented out every weekend in the summer. There's also a larger pavilion a bit away from the playground that is suitable for large groups. The trees here are beautiful and large and provide a lot of shade, although not right over the playground and splash pad. Really nice basketball court, football field, soccer field and baseball field.
Bear Creek Trail runs through the park and offers a scenic and interesting walk on a wide, paved path. There are several footpaths off the main path and lots of places to explore. There's also a nature trailhead in between Parr Park and Bear Creek Park right off the paved trail called Wall-Farrar Nature Trail. We didn't explore the nature trail today but plan to come again. Parr Park is quickly becoming one of our...
Read moreFun little splash pad in a nice quiet and secluded neighborhood. The area is not fenced in, but the parking lot is far enough away that may not be an issue if you have a child that elopes. The ground has padding that makes it softer to play on, we did see many kids slip and fall while playing, which was something we haven't experienced at other splashpads we have visited. The playground is right next to the splash pad, which is nice if you have some kiddos that don't want to get wet. There is ample seating surrounding the splash pad and there are bathrooms on-site, and many shaded picnic tables and a few covered tables as well. There was a lot of debris on the ground surrounding and in the splash pad, which was kind of gross, considering the water hasn't been up and running for very long this year. (Hair ties, dirty socks, toilet paper/napkins, hair, etc.) We...
