Incredible trail of painted rocks. Was started during the pandemic to help spread kindness and positivity to the community. As of May 2021 over 11,000 works of art are on the trail. Rocks have been sent in from all over the world, including Australia, Canada, Europe, Asia, Russia, and most of the 50 states. The trail has been featured in numerous media outlets, magazines, and even the Washington Post.
Rocks shouldn’t be taken as they are for everyone to enjoy. Trail goers are free to leave painted rocks of their own. It’s extremely kid friendly, just make sure to stay on the trail. As with any wooded area, there is poison ivy and an occasional snake.

Read moreThis rock exhibit will amaze you! Parr Park Rock Trail set a Guinness World Record for the largest display of painted rocks in the world. Tons of the rocks have some stunning designs, including cartoons, animals, motivational quotes and much more. The display also includes a COVID memorial, and many of the rocks were added to remember those who passed away during the pandemic. At the beginning of the display, there is a larger rock that tells where certain themes are located in the display. There is also a rock that certifies that the trail set a Guinness World Record. You are more than encouraged to bring a rock and leave it here. The display meanders around a trail with a surface that provides more cushion for your feet than concrete. The level of skill some of the artist have put on display is astounding plus the shear number of rocks that have been donated to this project is mind-blowing (it just goes on-and-on). And what's even better is that you can contribute your own painted rocks to this massive collection.
FYI, it's far easier to park at the Church at the Cross parking lot and walk here (probably a 7-10 minute walk) than it is to get here...
