A TRULY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!
We called in the morning to make a reservation for that afternoon, and they said they could fit all 4 of us for a 2:15 tour. Upon leaving the hotel, over an hour away, we hit traffic on the mountain, and that was going to put our time at 2:30. We called the center and told them what had happened, and the woman on the phone was SO RUDE and said if you are not here by 2:15, we will not wait for you- so we asked to speak to her manager, and a man gets on the phone and says to us "the gas pedal is on the right hand side", excuse me? That is EVEN RUDER! We tried our absolute hardest to get there on time, cutting people off on the road, speeding up steep mountain roads, using the "gas pedal", and while we were able to take a few minutes off our time, it was not enough and we got there at 2:23... We ran inside and asked if it had left yet, and the RUDE man said "yeah it left at 2:15, you missed it, like we knew was going to happen". The level of horrible this center was, was outstanding. Then he suggests that we can rent the snow shoeing gear, WHICH IS EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE, to hike right around the corner. We said no, and hiked around the corner anyways, in a few inches of snow. HE JUST WANTED MORE MONEY, and then the second we walked away they closed up shop! They were just being lazy and didn't feel like waiting! There was no humanity in these people, no grace, no give, just GREED! And to put salt on the wound, it says everywhere on the building that it is "family owned"- if it is that makes me sad because clearly that family hates each other. We came for a once in a lifetime experience from Florida, one of my friends had never even seen snow before, from a hotel over an hour away, and they could not care less. They cared about being greedy, lazy, selfish, and truly horrible.
Side note: the entire shop if filled with posters with the rude managers face all over...
Read moreI don’t usually do reviews on places considering I usually don’t usually have issues, BUT this by far was my worst experience for a FIRST time customer. I stayed at The Glen House, no complaints about that, beautiful hotel, great amenities, great restaurant and great staff. I also contacted a representative at The Glen House about skiing. She was nice and very informative about how there was a Ski Lesson class as well as a trail right behind the hotel. When my best friend and I received the voucher at The Glen House, it stated that you could make reservations for the Ski Lesson Class. When we had called I was transferred to not one, not two, but three people to book a reservation for the Ski Lesson Class, this wasn’t where the actual issue was. They told us that the conditions for skiing were not ideal and that there was no ski lesson class for that day. We went to Great Glen Trail Outdoors to see if we could still possibly rent the skis, they were persistent on telling us it was not ideal for beginners. We spent $40 each on snow shoes, we didn’t get far came back and wanted to see if we could get a refund or out the $40 towards skis. I asked for a refund and she did not hesitate but then asked about skiing. I told her That I didn’t mean to be rude but I had come from Boston to ski and not to walk. She then proceeded to not only give us an attitude, but told us “I can give you the skis, but GOOD LUCK” as a customer I was truly shocked that she would even say that to me. That was super rude and so unprofessional. I get the conditions were unideal and that we may have been persistent on getting skis but you should never speak to a...
Read moreWe just went yesterday for snow tubing! We booked our slot online several weeks prior. We checked in at the Lodge and the pleasant workers told us where to go, what to do. Tube's were in great condition with "leashes" for easy pulling (my 12 and 6 yr old had no trouble altho my 6 yr old did tire toward the end, I have a heart condition and had no issues pulling up the hill) There were 3 "slides" and one walk up area- rarely any wait, everyone helped one another if needed- you could even go down together, holding everyone together- we were a family of 4, I saw 8+ going, it was a blast. Conditions were good, we were even in a big snow squall for about an hr and a half which just added to being surrounded by these big mountains (including Mt Washington) There was a hot Cocoa and smores stand, a few bucks altho we didn't get any wt the top, and a Porta Potty. It was also fun to see the Snow Coaches headed up Mt Washington and all the skiers and snowshoers. Kids are already begging to go back and don't be shy- there were couples with no kiddos there and all parents were having just as much fun...
