A must see in Indiana. The park was open with no entree fee the day we went. This trail has a parking lot, bathrooms, park with picnic tables and a covered bridge at the trailhead. We took our 13 and 10 year old boys and twin 10 month old girls on this trail for the first time today. We carried our twins in our front packs. There is a pretty steep incline at the beginning of the trail. Aside from that the trail was pretty level. You also have a paved road option. I saw cars drive on the road that leads from the upper falls and covered bridge area to the lower falls. The trail had a look-out point at both the upper and lower falls. The lower falls had a restroom and picnic tables available as well. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and it was not busy at all. Our boys enjoyed climbing down the hill to get a closer look at the water. The water was really moving fast so use extreme caution. If you fall in, your not going to make it out alive. Sadly, the trail was pretty littered with cigarettes and water bottles. Overall, this was an excellent trail for our family and a must see for Indiana. We packed a picnic and sat at one of the tables near the water and...
Read moreIf you live in Indiana, it's a place you need to visit at least once, as it is home to the largest waterfall in Indiana measured by volume. There are two sets of falls, upper and lower; I was much more impressed with lower falls, although I also had the unique opportunity to approach the lower falls by kayak (we launched at Cunot Boat Ramp off 42 if anyone is interested in making a similar trip). The hiking trails are short and mostly easy. The trail at the top of the upper falls is handicap accessible, but the terrain can be steep by oneself in a wheelchair (we saw one person struggling to go up the incline). There is an additional dirt trail down to below the upper falls that is moderately difficult at a few points, but something anyone in average health could complete. There isn't a lot here besides the falls, so don't plan on necessarily spending an entire day here. Also, despite not being a state park, be aware that the state park admission fees are still...
Read moreA beautiful park with some amazing waterfalls, scenery, and a neat covered bridge. There were several trails to explore and a playground for kids. The waterfalls were easy to access and they have good viewing decks. There is a picnic area, picnic shelters at both lookouts, as well some park style outhouse restrooms. I got the fall color and a sunset in. I only wish I had more time. The trails nice and there was a lot to explore. I came in after the office was closed, but had I not, my only dissapointment was that I would of had to pay $9 to get in as a non resident. The website did not accurately explain the associated costs. I feel that's a little excessive. Other than that, it seemed like a well kept facility.and I'm glad I got to visit. If I were to go back, I'd hike the trail between the falls and do some more exploring...
