Just moved to the area and this is one of my favorite finds in the area. This is the oldest functioning general store in indiana and it is a gem! I could spend all day looking at the items for sale, reading the informative and funny signs throughout the shop. It's obvious how much the owner loves the area and doing everything possible to preserve the history of this location. They have a great variety of new and old items. I bought a snowflake ornament that was made from the roof of the hoosier dome. They have beautiful indiana glass pieces. There is history all over the walls of this store. So amazing. The bad news is that they confirmed their intention to sell everything and then sell the store. It sounded like she was just tired and didn't want to do it anymore.
The pictures I posted are from across the street at the Gathering of the People's Pow-wow. That was fun for sure! Met lots of nice people. From talking to the people at the general store, they intend to try to sell the store to a buyer who will continue the agreement with the tribes and keep the annual pow wow going....
