Oh, friends, let me tell you about a little gem tucked away in the heart of Pennsylvania—Little Falls Trail. It's like stepping into one of nature’s paintings. You wander down this peaceful path, and the first thing you'll notice is how the trees, with their golden leaves, just seem to whisper a warm welcome. Fall is in the air, and the colors are something special. Rich reds, fiery oranges, and soft yellows—each leaf is a happy little accident waiting to flutter down to the forest floor.

Now, as you make your way further, you come across the river. Oh, what a friend this river is. It dances and sings alongside you, guiding you to the real treasures—the waterfalls. Not just one, but a few cascading beauties, each one more serene than the last. They’re gentle, not roaring, like a soft brushstroke on the canvas of the land. And the sound... it’s like the world is just sighing in peace.

And here’s the best part, friends—when you catch those waterfalls with the autumn light kissing them just right, oh boy, it’s like a sparkle in the eye of Mother Nature herself. Each view is like a brand new canvas, full of possibilities. I always say, there are no mistakes in nature, just happy little scenes waiting to be discovered, and Little Falls Trail is full of them.

So bring your hiking boots, your sense of wonder, and maybe a little thermos of cocoa. This trail isn’t just a walk—it’s a peaceful escape where the world slows down, and you can enjoy the quiet magic of nature, one lovely step at a time. Happy...

This is a trail within the confines of Promised Land State Park. The trail itself can be done as a loop and is just a bit over a mile long. Cross when you get to the second bridge. While a trail does continue on past this point, it requires a water crossing and adds nothing in scenic enjoyability. The trail is almost entirely flat but it is all roots and rocks so while its very easy hiking you do want to be steady on your feet to do it. I also recommend boots to support secure footing without ankle turns. It was a bit squishy in places today due to recent rain but not problematically muddy by any means. The falls are very pretty and would make for good picnic stops. There were also several fishermen along this stetch. Good for dogs and young children. No bathrooms right here...stop at park information or concession area. Ps...any mycology fans...check out the grassy area near the concession parking..photos...

Another reason to relax at Promised Land State Park! Went for a nice pic i nic at the lake, walked around a bit then went for a drive to the back of lower lake section and stumbled upon the Little Falls Trail and took a chance. A short distance (15 minutes, mostly level, easy.) on a well marked, although muddy in parts trail, lead us to the bridge crossing the creek and the view seen in the photo. I was starting to climb for a better photo when another visitor warned us of the snake coiled on the rocks at creeks edge (not pictured). We saw no other critters on the path but I live up the hill and less than a mile as the crow flys and had three bears pass through the back yard the same morning. I love living in the woods. Come to the area and see...
