Hey there, fishing fans and water enthusiasts! Dad here, and today I want to talk to you about one of the most breathtaking spots in Greer South Carolina - J Verne Smith Park, Dock, and Lake.

Let me tell you, folks, this park is an absolute gem. Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, J Verne Smith Park offers a stunning backdrop of natural beauty that is sure to take your breath away.

One of my favorite things about this park is the lake. The lake is absolutely gorgeous, and it's the perfect spot to spend a lazy afternoon fishing or just taking in the beauty of the natural surroundings. The lake is stocked with a variety of fish, including trout, bass, and catfish, making it a great spot for anglers of all skill levels.

But that's not all, folks. J Verne Smith Park also has a dock that's perfect for fishing or just taking in the stunning views of the lake. The dock is equipped with benches, rod holders, and a fish cleaning station, making it the perfect spot to spend the day fishing or just relaxing.

And let's not forget about the park itself. The park is absolutely stunning, with plenty of green space for kids to run around and play. There are picnic tables and grills, making it the perfect spot for a family outing or a barbecue with friends.

Overall, I have to say, J Verne Smith Park, Dock, and Lake is one of my favorite spots in Mount Horeb. From the breathtaking views of the lake to the great fishing and the park area, it's the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. So, if you're in Mount Horeb, South Carolina, and looking for a spot to relax, I highly recommend checking out J Verne Smith Park, Dock, and Lake. Trust me, you won't be...

Beautiful Lake but just not our favorite. No swimming allowed. Mainly private home docks and major lack of nature in this area. Just a good neighborhood lake to teach the kids to fish and kayak. Public restrooms are available. Boat ramp. Fishing pavilion off a dock. Plenty of picnic tables. Wardens Office on site. Loads of parking. Very well kept. Police watch the area so it's always safe. Not enough shaded area. No big boats. Not the Lake you're looking for if you're wanting to go tubing, swimming, and out for a while day adventure but definitely something doable for a...

Absolutely stunning place to watch the sunset! A word of caution: The website says the park is open from sunrise to sunset. Was there the other day to watch the sunset.

Park Ranger exercises his ounce of power with an iron fist.

The ranger was already kicking people out a couple minutes BEFORE the sun was supposed to set according to the weather app on my phone.

Left a bitter taste in my mouth. Can't say I'll be back if the sunset is going to be rudely interrupted by someone who detests people just wanting to enjoy the sunset in...

Such a beautiful lake but no swimming is allowed! I like to come to the park just to hang out and enjoy picturesque and serene Lake Robinson with mountains in the back. Wonderful place for watching sunsets. You can bring your own kayak or rent one across the street. There are plenty of picnic tables and a picnic shelter that can be rented for parties. I see a lot of people fishing of the fishing dock. Always plenty of parking available. I wish there were more trails for walking around.

Beautiful boating lake! Things to know: no public beaches but you can swim in the open water (200ft from land). There’s excellent fishing and the bass were jumping like dolphins. They do require boating permits for larger craft (10hp limit). We bought the year permit for our sail boat (30$) and the lake was nice for sailing with open stretches and zero power lines to contest with. Special thanks to Warden Matt who made us feel very welcome! We’ll be back soon
