Cognitive Gardens at Avery Point in Groton, CT was very tricky to find. We went on 7/31/23. It was a beautiful summer day with the wind coming off the water. There were no clear signs that we could find that pointed out where the garden was. I remembered something about a parking lot mentioned. We drove around then realized we had found it on a slanted hillside. It really needed to be tended to with loose stones and branches and overgrowth hiding benches. It was suppose to be for the 4 year old but he was too impatient. He did try to follow what we were saying and look for the pictures in the mosaics. He had more fun on the walking path that lead to a sculpture garden that had giant toys. (Those were COOL!!!) Personally I tried to follow the path that didn't have overgrowth. I would stop now and again and just breath when the wind blew. The front of the garden was full of lavender and the scent was very calming. It was beautiful, but the section needed to be weeded out.
