If you taking abt Avila Beach is great. There were so many beautiful dogs playing together having the time of their lives. And Dog People are the Best People. They are friendly, happy, patient, very loving humans, so if you go to this pet friendly beach be prepared to be treated as an equal. No one is higher than our beloved Dogs. Everyone looks out for everyone's dog. People on this beach respect that this is our beach to spend time with our Family Dog who is a very special Family member with special needs and this beach fulfills this need for us Dog Lovers to be with our Beloved Family Dog and people who believe the same way. My Dogs Emmie, Eddie, lily Bug are so Grateful to have such a wonderful place. Also the beach provides poo bags as to keep the beach clean....

For kids with dogs. Since I find the canines annoying, I am not too thrilled with them. It is another one of the few beaches that you can wade in.....but watch for hypothermia. The water in this area of CA, is super-cold and most will use wetsuits. Due to prior extensive oil pollution in this beach, I would also research. They had to replace the top few feet of soil in town due to this.

Anyway, the views here are nice & it is pleasant to walk barefoot on the shore. Food & hotels are nearby & the 101 is just a few miles. People can tend to clog the area when there are reports of...

It is a fantastic beach for dogs to run off leash. Lots of area so that you can walk off and put distance between any small personality mismatch that individual dogs may have. Almost as many people come to sunbathe as they do to run the dogs, and most seem to appreciate the dog friendly atmosphere. It is very close to Avilla Beach and Port San Luis if you want a little more human only interactions. Tons to do in the area, and it is nice to have a dog friendly place to add. Poop bags...

Be mindful and demure: keep it clean! Poopy bags are available before walking on, at the bottom of the ramp or beginning of the stairs :) #california #centralcoast #sanluisobispo #portsanluis #avilabeach #dogbeach #ilivewhereyouvacation

Bathrooms and easy Street parking, and easy stairs or ramps to the beach. Lots of dogs enjoying the water. We didn't bring a dog, but chose this beach anyway to watch the dogs play and get off the overcrowded beaches a bit. There only about 20 stairs from our parking spot down onto the sand, which was easy for my little kids. The bathroom was clean. I didn't find any place to rinse sandy feet or hands.
