Just off I-95 is a hub of art activities and events housed in a tucked away location. The Guilford Art Center is a great place for children and adults to take a variety of art classes from pottery to jewelry and all the drawing and painting classes you want. Get on their mailing list to see their schedule of classes and upcoming events or check our their Facebook page. Their signature event is the summer Guilford Handcrafts Fair on the Guilford Green that draws thousands of people and some of the best craft artists from around the country. We’re talking very high-end crafts here of the “jaw-dropping” variety. Their gallery space has changing exhibits by local artists featuring both solo and group shows. They have a wonderful gift shop filled with handmade items you're not going to find anywhere else. You can also rent the space for your own events. I went to a “celebration of life” here for an artist and it was a great space to pay tribute to a life of creativity. It's wheelchair accessible and there's always something worth seeing. After you support your local artists, it’s a straight drive down the street to the center of Guilford where you can enjoy lots of shops and places to eat. You could even do a picnic on the Guilford Green...
Read moreThe Guilford Art Center has a very nice store offering a wide variety of art that varies in style. The art is very nice and the store is a good place to visit and get something for yourself or to get a gift for someone. The prices vary quite a bit but much of the art is affordable for most people. The Art Center also offers classes that range across several different styles. The Art Center is located in the back of a medical building and there is parking in the back area. It’s easy to get to. It’s located on Route 77 near I-85 and the Boston Post Road. I definitely recommend...

The other guest was interested in joining a community of other fiber craft artists, but it seemed like talking to her was a bother until other staff came out to actually help. When I asked about pottery, it was suggested I try a Big Box store instead. There's lots and lots of dangly earrings if that's your thing. Skip if you're looking...
