This place is an opening in the mangroves just north of the two-story Tampa Bay Watch building and before the toll entrance to Ft DeSoto park. It works well to launch for a paddle to Shell Key and around the numerous islands that are studded with a variety of beautiful birds. We went for a sunset/moonrise kayaking trip and the water was like glass - absolutely gorgeous!
