Greenhearts Family Farm CSA — Attraction in Half Moon Bay

Receiving this box each week makes me feel connected to the foggy San Mateo coast in a very real way! Our family gets a box of super fresh, nutrient dense food delivered to our apartment in San Francisco every Friday. It's fun to open the box and read the note from Farmer Paul about his week on the farm. After I read the note, I wash and store the fruits and vegetables. This task is both meditative and useful because while I do it, I get familiar with that week's produce and I get ideas about the salads and dishes I'll soon be preparing. Then, as we consume these brightly colored vegetables throughout the week, we are nourished by the farmers and by the land at Greenhearts Family farm. We've been customers from the early days and feel a high level of trust and of gratitude for the labor of love that Greenhearts Family Farm is. There is something so fun and cool about having this connection to the clean air and land of the Half Moon Bay coast--and to the people who grow food on that land. It's all fairly close to the city, but it feels even more immediate through my relationship with Greenhearts. This review is starting to feel like a PSA, but I feel evangelical about this business! Having been a customer for over 10 years now, I must apologize to the Greenhearts team for not writing one here! But here I am and I'm here to talk about the abundance of wonderful produce that Farmer Paul & the Greenhearts team faithfully delivers to my doorstep without fail.

The box that my family gets is bursting with the best, seasonal, organic produce that one can find (but only if you had the knowledge and mindset of the dedicated folks at Greenhearts). Tons of fruit, bushels of vegetables, you really won't find a better box at a better price that's delivered to you.

Having been a subscriber for over 10 years, I have NEVER gotten a box where there was a singular fruit (unless it was a cantaloupe). The only time that my family ever found a box 'lacking' in fruit is because I ate the blueberries before they made it to the fridge.

We have been getting the Greenhearts Family Farm CSA for years now (every week!) and we don't know what we would do without it! The vegetables and fruits are so unbelievably fresh and perfectly varied - I can't imagine going back to store-bought produce. The customer service is amazing as well - I can't tell you how many times I've called (needing to pause service for vacations, etc) and Aurora answers right away and is always so helpful. That's not to mention the lengths Greenhearts takes to ensure delivery (including during the Bay Area fires, when NO ONE was going outside! Farmer Paul showed up on our doorstep with a mask on, box in hand). You can also order extras - fresh eggs, honey, steaks, whole chickens, etc - and they are really something to look forward to. It's affordable as well - if we had to go back to grocery produce, we would a) spend a ton more money, and b) end up throwing things out, as store-bought items just don't last as long (or taste as good).
