So, I have only been here twice. I really don't know anything about the place's history. From a park point of view it appears to be more geared toward camping and fishing.
The farmhouse and barn are quaint yet I don't think you can or should interact with them. They literally are falling down.
As far as facilities, there are a few port o potties. Not even the cruddy out house with plumbing and running water that a lot of parks have. Sanitation wise, I would avoid this place if you can't get passed the lack of running water and soap or hand sanitizer.
If lack of modern plumbing and hygiene doesn't scare you, the camp site areas and river access for fishing are fine. I wouldn't go in the river at this location for swimming.
There are some trails through the woods that are cleared enough for hiking.
Route 147 runs through the park as do train tracks. I have not been on the non farm side of the park. Seems like trains do roll through every couple hours throughout the day. So don't plan on leaving if a train is passing through.
I do not know who administrates the park if you would want to use a camp site.

The opposite side has open land and creeks and is a good place to walk and daydream and play Maria in the Sound of Music.
