You can stop looking for your wedding venue. You’ve found it and you won’t regret it. Living in Philadelphia, we thought a venue would have to be pretty spectacular to travel all the way to central PA. It was. In fact, it exceeded every expectation. Picking Stone Mill Inn (SMI) was the best decision in the wedding planning process. Every single visit reaffirmed that we made the right decision and I am not exaggerating when I say that each guest commented that SMI was one of the most beautiful and well-staffed wedding venues they’d ever been to.
From the outset, the staff was so kind, helpful, and accommodating and we really loved every staff member we interacted with. Amy was our day of coordinator and she was an absolute saint, working so tirelessly to get us info quickly and comprehensively. She was informative and helpful, and somehow made us feel like the only couple she was working with! She is incredibly detail-oriented and works to be sure that every couple is well-equipped for a flawless, magical day. When we had strong preferences she accommodated them and when we were clueless she pointed us in the right direction. She executed the vision for our day flawlessly. She is so in tune with her couples that she can tell when they aren’t 100% happy and does everything in her power to get every detail juuuuust right.
The owners, Ken & Karen have cultivated the most gorgeous property with so many unique, well-manicured outdoor spaces and well-appointed indoor spaces. Their attention to detail is phenomenal with a stash of decor that made our minimal decor really pop. The bridal suite is a dream with plenty of bright, natural that the hair and makeup artists loved. The whole property is a photographer’s dream and offers so many unique ceremonies and reception spaces, such that even rainy-day weddings are gorgeous. Booking here makes you a part of the SMI family and like the incredible parents that they are, Karen and Ken make each couple feel like they are special, unique, and their #1 priority.
When the day came, the team absolutely shined. From the staff appearing with water exactly when we were dragging, to having the bridal party’s favorite drink ready after the ceremony they did it all with a smile. They ensured the bride and groom were well-fed and always had a drink in hand. When the bride spilled tomato soup on her dress, Jim sprang into action with his tide pen, and when her bustle broke Amy rigged the most impressive makeshift bustle. They made us feel like royalty ensuring we had champagne before the ceremony and in the limo after the reception. They left extras of our favorite appetizers at our dinner table and packed up our leftover dinner and dessert to go. The food is absolutely delicious and so very fresh– they don’t even own a freezer! They were very accommodating to the bride’s unique dietary restrictions and are continuing to expand the vegetarian options which will be an incredible asset. The pizza oven is SUCH a fun feature– including it was an absolute crowd-pleaser and conversation starter. The owner, Ken manned it himself. The SMI staff took care of all setup and take down. They are a well-oiled machine making weddings seem effortless while ensuring that every couple feels unique and cared for.

From the very first tour until the very last guest leaving the wedding, Stone Mill Inn goes above and beyond to make your dream wedding become a reality. And for an incredibly reasonable price! First and foremost, the property is stunning. From inside the Mill to the surrounding grounds, there is no shortage of beauty. You and your photographer will be able to capture incredible photos. Second, Ken and Karen (the owners) treat your wedding like it is their own. We looked at a lot of places and it felt like some places were preying on people's wedding dreams, nickel and diming you for chairs, linens, plates, easels, you name it. Not here. It may sound gimmicky when Ken and Karen say you are joining a family when you work with Stone Mill Inn but it’s true. And this mentality trickles all the way down the staff. The staff is incredible. They truly went above and beyond on the wedding day to make sure we had everything we needed. Olivia, one of their wonderful coordinators, worked so hard to make the day run smoothly and let us tell you, what an asset. The fact Stone Mill includes a wedding day coordinator makes your life so much easier. Trust us. Not once did we have to worry if something was going to be done right or on time. We were able to enjoy our day with our friends and family without having to sweat the details. Not to mention, the food is AMAZING! Location – they are easy to get to from highways and local hotels Layout – The Stone Mill and surrounding property is beautiful The price & no hidden fees – Everything is upfront. You pay for the venue, and you pay for the catering. That’s it. No nickel and diming you and it is very reasonable for the value you are getting. Wedding Coordinator is included – they help plan your wedding day, keep you on track during the planning process and answer all the questions you may have. You will be the only wedding day of – their attention is completely on you. Plus, there are multiple places to get married on the property so there is an A, B, C plan for the day. You can get married outside. If it rains, there’s a big, beautiful tent outside to get marred under, and if it’s really bad weather, you can get married inside the Mill. All things they can make happen last minute if need be. You can bring the alcohol – this may sound like a pain but what a savings. You can buy exactly what you need for your wedding, whether it’s just beer and wine or a full bar service. The bartenders are already included in your price. It is one of the best values out there. Professionals – Ken, Karen, Olivia, Jeff, and all the staff members at the Stone Mill Inn are true professionals in their trade. My fiancé (now husband!!) and I visited this venue on a very dreary February weekend about a year and a half before we got married. As soon as we got there, we just knew. It was absolutely stunning, even with all the rain and the chilly weather.
We sat down in the house to have our meeting and it truly felt like the coordinator we had at the time cared about what we wanted. The owner, Ken, also came in and just talked with us and told us that the food was amazing as well.
After we saw Stone Mill Inn, we went to look at another venue about a half hour away, and just was disappointed. Not because it wasn’t beautiful, but because they just didn’t treat us the way SMI did. We left the second venue and immediately sent an email to book our wedding date.
SMI is super communicative, a trait which I think every bride or anybody booking a venue for an event loves. I would ask a question and get a response in about 24-48 hours.
When we went for the tasting, we were amazed at how incredible the food was. The tasting also gave us an opportunity to see how they would go about serving everybody and how long it would take. It was truly incredible. Nobody at our wedding had to wait longer than a few minutes for their meal, and it was always hot.
Our wedding coordinator was originally somebody different, but when we went to our final meeting we ended up with Amber, and I am so happy it worked out this way. Amber is the sweetest, loveliest, most organized person. She answered ALL of my questions (I had quite a few the last couple of weeks leading up to the wedding) and just completely put me at ease.
I love the format they use when going over details. You can see exactly what your day is going to look like, and I promise you, your day WILL look exactly what you want it to look like.
When I brought in my decor before the rehearsal, they pulled everything out and got it all ready to go for me. I didn’t have to lift a finger. Our rehearsal was a little rocky (no fault of the venue whatsoever) but they still put me and my bridesmaids/groomsman at ease about everything. They also clean everything up for you at the end of the night which was so nice to not have to worry about, and Sean and I were able to go directly to our after party.
As for my decor, I had a specific vision for what I wanted it to look like. I was worried, because although I wrote in instructions I didn’t really have image examples. When I tell you it was like they reached into my brain and pulled out what I was imagining, they did just that and so so much more.
This event ran so smoothly. When I tell you not a thing went wrong, I mean NOTHING. Everyone at that venue did everything they could to make it a perfect day, and a perfect day it was. I was so happy all day long. I’ve gotten so many texts and phone calls from SO MANY of my guests saying it was the most beautiful, incredible wedding they’ve ever been to.
