Tommy Schumpert Park Dog Park — Attraction in Halls Crossroads

Great big beautiful dog park! I was not aware of the pond area so I took my dogs down there today. One thing to be mindful of is not to let your dogs drink the pond water though! Mine took a couple sips and now I'm worried hoping they don't get any kind of ghiardia or leptospirosis, but reading below that they close it if it has bacteria makes me feel a bit better about the situation. Either way, my dogs love it here, there are always dogs to play with and my pups love exploring the huge fields. Just a note: My one dog did get attacked here by a vicious dog and his ear bit clean through, but honestly that can happen at any park and I'm not one to let a single bad experience ruin things forever, just have to keep an eye out and make sure they don't wander up to any dogs still on leash (that sometimes leads to aggression/protection of the human, dependent on the dog). The park looks nice. The reason for the 3 refund is the small dog park is made drastically smaller by a wooded area. The wooded area cuts the small dog park in half. It's thick and difficult to navigate. When I take my dog to a new park, before I let her of leash I walk the fence to make sure there aren't any gaps where she can escape. I could not walk half the fence because it would've been difficult to try to navigate with the leash. The big dog side was free and clear and I could see the whole fence. It's a nice park bit there are a lot of "regulars" that act like they own the place and let there dogs just run crazy and pick on the smaller dogs and it seems like know one was picking up there dogs droppings everyone just standing around not paying a bit of attention to there dogs at all I took my catahoula puppy there recently and she was attacked by two larger dogs the minute she entered the gate and the owners "regulars" just stood there acting like nothing was going on and then laughed at me when I had to jump in and pull them off my pup so I have stopped going I go to...
