Pardee Rose Gardens — Attraction in Hamden

This was quite the surprise- the garden was beautifully laid out: there are so many varieties of roses. It seems like it’s a venue for weddings and other events as well. There are plenty of benches strewn throughout the park. It’s a wonderful place to stop by with a book and spend some time communing with beautiful flora. We spotted this adorable fawn in the park as well. Beautiful. It was definitely a special experience. :) There is a map outside the gardens laying out the trails in East Rock park. The map is very helpful to plan your visit. There is a greenhouse as well- it was closed when we stopped by but that might be worth a visit some time as well. Stop by and enjoy...

I go 3 to 4 times every year to purchase flowers for my gardens. I don't recall the caretaker that provided me with a very informative tour of the greenhouses, but I really learned a lot about the plants and flowers, and was thrilled to find just what I was looking for; colorful hanging baskets. I have to also mention the Pardee Rose Garden has a variety of gorgeous roses blooming....
