I tend to walk this trail pretty much every week. Although the Trail could use some work just be careful when you are walking or riding bikes cause there are cracks n bumps n the road. Typically after a big storm trees are torn down and will fall smack down in the middle of the path. I actually got poison ivy crossing over a big tree in order to get back on the trail. I njoy the trail regardless and there are benches thru out if you need to take a break. Also b very careful cause you are passing the golf course and you would not want to get hit by a ball. From time to time you will see the deers walking around minding there own business along with squirrels. Every once n awhile you will encounter a snake but hey don't bother it and it wont bother you. Please watch out for the skaters and bicyclists cause they might not sound off that they are behind you and if you got your earbuds on u wont hear them and that could b ugly. Plenty of parking spaces so u dont have to b concern about that. All in all it's...
Read moreThis is an amazing trail. It is all paved, perfect for strollers, wheelchairs, bikes, skates, and rollerblades. There is lots of wildlife, too many squirrels to count. I've also seen deer and the occasional King Snake (good boi) crossing the trail early in the morning. Lots of variations of plants native to Virginia. The loop is 3 miles. If you want a longer walk or run, you can take the right on the trail, which will loop you around and get you around 4.5 miles. This trail is mostly shaded by trees. I'd recommend bug spray during most hours of the day when it's not cold outside. Also, I go to this trail 1-3 times a week and my dog nor I have ever had a tick on me. However, I remain vigilant. There are benches placed along the...
Read moreGreat trail for any age or experience level. Whether you want to bike, run, walk your dog, take the kids out or just have a quiet walk, this trail is great for everyone. Depending on the time of year and your willingness or interest in foraging there are also many tasty treats just off the path😉 blackberry season has almost completely fizzled out by this point but the paw paws are in full swing. Be mindful leaving the trail if you choose to do this, most snakes in this area are non venomous but there are always a few of the not so nice ones. Poison ivy is everywhere but mostly likes to climb the trees so just be...
