If you are looking for where the troops toughed out the extreme winter then you should head to Jockey Hollow. The conditions were so harsh, there where mutinies, and soldiers without shoes and clothing. Their is a nice tour road taking you to various sites and monuments including recreated soldiers cabins. Hours are less than posted due to COVID...

Several very well-marked trails. I believe there are 27 miles of the trails and many different routes. Some historical information, though more can be found out at Washington Headquarters.

I love this gem of a national park in Morris County! It's so peaceful and beautiful. There are some breathtaking views if you hike away from the road, too!

I loved to walk the roads and trails of this park, but yesterday, the first day of spring, 2023, when I came back from my hike I found out the car that I was driving have been robbed, with a broken window from the passenger seat and my bag with ID, credit card , etc was stolen! Took me a while to call the police and reported because I had no signal on my cell, only te SOS. I found out there is no cameras on the park and I believe the person that did this to me was planning to break to someone’s car , because the window is very hard to get broken and definitely this marginal carries some kind of tool with the intention to do that. I can never go back to my hiking to this park anymore . I will never going to feel safe. I am in distress and cannot sleep. There is violent people with bad intentions...

The most frustrating experience I've ever had at a National Park Service unit. All buildings were closed from late December to mid-February which is understandable given the low visitor ship during that season. But this unit of Morristown and Paterson Great Falls are the only times I've gone to an NPS unit where if the building has been closed they don't have an alternate National Park Passport stamping site. The bin of brochures was completely empty. It can't be that hard to send somebody out there periodically to refill the brochures - the dog waste bag dispensers were all fully stocked. I guess this is like Kennesaw Mountain where the focus is more on suburbanites walking dogs than people who actually care about our...
