Purser Family Park in Texas is an absolute gem for families and pet owners alike, meriting a well-deserved five-star review from our recent visit. The park's well-maintained, expansive spaces provided a perfect outing for my 1-year-old daughter, 3-year-old son, and our beloved dog, Brinhilda.

From the moment we arrived, the kids were thrilled with the variety of play areas. The playgrounds are safe, clean, and ingeniously designed to cater to different age groups, ensuring that both my daughter and son had a plethora of activities to engage with. The equipment is modern and stimulating, offering everything from slides and swings to interactive play stations, which encouraged them to be active, imaginative, and socialize with other children in a safe environment.

The dog park was a hit with Brinhilda. It's spacious, secure, and offers plenty of room for dogs of all sizes to run, play, and interact. The thoughtful design includes separate areas for large and small dogs, ensuring a safe environment for pets to enjoy their playtime. Additionally, the park is equipped with water stations and waste disposal facilities, which I found to be extremely convenient and indicative of the park's commitment to cleanliness and pet owner needs.

The park's natural beauty, with its lush landscapes and well-kept walking trails, provided a serene backdrop for our day. It was a joy to take leisurely walks, allowing us to enjoy the outdoors and explore the beauty of the park at our own pace. The ample seating areas and picnic spots were perfect for taking breaks and enjoying snacks, making our day comfortable and relaxing.

Overall, Purser Family Park stands out as an exemplary family and pet-friendly destination. Its thoughtful design, cleanliness, and the range of activities it offers make it a must-visit for anyone looking to spend quality time outdoors with their children and pets. Our experience was nothing short of wonderful, and we look forward to many more visits...

I joined the YMCA here. The park Set catacorner to the building. I started water arabics a couple of months ago. Shout out to Sarah, the instructor.๐Ÿ˜ It was really nice just some days it's got really crowded ๐Ÿคฏ It is a really nice place for people to go, especially for seniors and veterans and those who had operations and needing therapy. They also have silver sneakers. There's a swimming pool, therapy pool , sauna, and all sorts of gym equipment upstairs. And they have 2 or 3 walking tracks plus a big basketball court. They have different rooms for a zumba and biking. During the week, they also have calendars that you can take home. They have different events and trips that you can go on. From football games to gambling trips or just day trips that leave 6 o'clock in the morning and come back around 7 or 8:00 at night? If you're wondering if you have to be a member of the YMCA to do any of the activities no you do not๐Ÿ˜‰They also give out food some thursday's from a big truck from sam's walmart. That anybody can take part of. They have all types of activities for your kids also for those that need to know how to swim they have classes for that also.๐Ÿ˜Š It's all around great place and a great place...

Pros: Great walking/running path! Most people and dog owners are courteous of each other.

Cons: Dog park is nasty with poop everywhere and owners do not supervise their dogs.

Be careful of a dog owner who takes his dogs on the walking path, but pays more attention to his phone than his dogs and will yell and cuss at you for reacting to his dog following your dog when he is the one not holding on to his dog's leash. He's there every morning. I saw another guy allowing his dog to pee on the sidewalk when the grass was right there.

Another time when I had another dog who was highly reactive who was followed by two unleashed dogs in the parking lot. The owner called his dogs, but they did not listen. Thankfully, my dog's trainer was there and knew what to do to keep my dog and the other dogs safe and trouble at bay.

I wish I could give higher stars because I really like this park as does my dog, but the irresponsible dog owners have made it so I won't be back. The guy with the phone and the nasty dog park with the no cares...

This park gets a 10/10 ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ from the YMCA next door to tons of shade trees, frisbee gold and dog parks; purser park truly has it all. There is a walking trail (just over 1 mile long) that has doggy pick up stations along the way. Youโ€™ll find ladies meet up events (ask us about it), dog training events, yoga in the park and so much more!! OH, the best part if you have kiddos?? A PARKโ€ฆ With pavilions nearby (and yes, they can be rented for parties/events)! #forthood #thingstodo #purserpark #harkerheights #pcs

The disc golf course here is typically why i come. I personally don't like that the entire course is right next to the walking trail with the exception of about 3 holes. Now that being said its a great course for those who don't mind being patient and want to develop their game. The playground is nice and my children have never complained. Slides, swings, little poles to slide down, and suspension bridge. The kids love it. Don't forget about the furry kids. The dog park is exceptional. With two different parks for different sized dogs your pet will surely fit right in. Water here for dogs as well as the kiddos. Plenty of onnsite toys for dogs as well as covered benches for dog mom or dad... If youre an avid walker/runner make sure you keep your head on a swivel. Its a nice little circle to walk with a few cutoffs to make your walk shorter if you choose, or to change the route... either way, you'll enjoy this as long as you and the disc golfers make sure to share the park, and watch for one another things should be great.
